Callaway Products
Since my dealer works together with callaway, I might use their aftermarket products. Afterall, their reputation seems to be very good.
Does any of you already uses their products like exhaust, headers or the honker?
Regards Hampi

Which dealer are you using?? and where are they located??
I have driven a C6 equipped with the Callaway "Power Groups", as they are called.
I also own two Callaway Corvettes - both are extremely high quality and powerful
These cars do exactly what they are said to do, every time they are called upon
The Honker can flow as much as 1500 cfm, or 32% more than stock - it is a VERY high quality piece
The C6 Honker is somewhat similar to the Callaway C5 Honker they offer only the C6 allowed a bit more flexability in the design, due to more room in the shroud area - An interesting note on the C5 Honker - the Mass Air sensor was moved right in front of the throttle body with that component - something GM obviously took note of and adopted for use on the C6
Combined with the Callaway Cat Back exhaust and Callaway headers (they leave the catalytic convertors in the stock location for emissions compliance
) the car picked up an extra 51 hp and 25 lb-ft of torque making the C6 even more driveable across the power band. Those components have been validated and they are offered under Power Groups 1 and 2 with Power Group 3 soon to be validated - P.G. 3 includes Heads and Cam as part of the package.
I hope this helps - you are indeed correct, Callaway Cars has a long standing reputation as a top shelf Engineering Company and they design and construct their parts with impeccable fit & finish -

I assume your C6 51/25 numbers are at the crank because there is no way that you can get 85+hp at the crank from an Intake and exhaust as the C6 is an excellent breather direct from BG.

Thank you for your reply, its highly appreciated
I am living in Switzerland and my dealer is http://www.corvettetotal.ch/.
I will get my car in two weeks from him, by that date he might have some products from Callaway available.
Emission is a very critical point where I live so its very ok they leave the cats stock.
Looking forward to using these hot products. 50 PS is quiet a lot

I am not quite sure what you mean like a vortex however, the Callaway Honker gets its air from the area under the shroud - like a "bottom breather" as what you see in the under hood compartment is totally sealed...
...well, I am not impressed with the figures...

Id rather do the stage 1 at ligenfelter!
I am not saying anything against that company however, do you the facts to show that component for component, someone is making more (emissions compliant) power?
Just wondering
BTW, it is Lingenfelter...
Any input on these questions is appreciated.
Breathless Performance sells a Ram Air kit called the Vortex. I am surprised you never heard of it.
When installing the kit, you have to cut the shroud below where the stock air box sits.
This opens up a nice hole for air to come in.
Is that what the Honker does as well? Anyone?

Gotcha - I did not know you were directly refering to the Breathless kit when you said Vortex...
To what degree if any cutting needs to be done on the Honker I am not certain - I do not want to say one thing and it be another
It does draw the air from beneath however - very high quality piece

Or am I reading this wrong?

Unlike the States, in Europe most aftermarket exhaust and headers will be illegal or would cost a fortune to make them legal and the feds or quite picky on this one. Would be cool if there also would be a kit, where you do not have to change the stock exhaust system (like Lingenfelder)
