You might check the forum. Last week at LG we had 6 C6s, all with Z-51, most pulled 345-350 RWHP / 340-345 Torque all stock. Mine pulled 353/343 with Borla Stingers and X-pipe @ 1100 miles. One vert with Corsas pulled 356 but I'm not sure what else he may have had.
Do you know results for other C6s that have run at the same dyno? Remember, every dyno is different and results vary fairly widely. Check out the thread at Digitalcorvettes.com, http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...threadid=30392.
The results for a bunch of cars (the actual number of cars was not clear from the thread, but it seemed like quite a few) all running on the same dyno on the same day were described as follows.
"All the C6s that were dynoed pulled between 345 and 352 on the hp numbers. Torque was 335 to 345...except for one auto that pulled 360!"
Given the amazing consistency (all within 7 HP and 10 TQ except for one odd outlier), it seems unlikely that your car is really at the bottom of the heap or that the bottom is really very far from the top.
I plan on going to the Dyno Thursday. I will post the results when I get them.
JT how did you break in your engine? I am curious if break in has any effect on HP.
Brett,
My thoughts exactly. First words outta my mouth following the Dyno were, “Well guess I did a crappy Break-in.” 1st drive was from AC to DC, 220 mi. Varied between 5th & 6th and 4th a few times. Speeds 55-75. Never exceeded 3000 RPM. Used cruise but never more than 3-5 minutes. Stopped 3 times for 10-15 min.
Following the initial 220 mi drove to work daily 4 mi, stop & go traffic, 25-35 mph.
@ 250mi drove fm DC to VA Bch 200mi. using the same routine as above. Once over 500 mi still took it easy, gentle on starting, never over 4000 RPM. Drove like a Blue Hair. Did not take off the easy drive mode till 800-1,000 mi. Didn’t wind er out till after 2000mi. 1St oil chg @ 3900 mi.

I was there and I got a number quite a bit lower than I had pulled on another dyno.
I talked with a few people who were getting lower numbers than we expected (realisticly.... we're not all dreamers.)
And considering that they had prolems with the dyno and could not complete all of the pulls scheduled for the day..... I would bet that the actuall output of you car is a bit higher than the 336 that was printed.

The only other C6 there had mods. Kooks, Hi-Flo Cats, Corsa w/Cross pipe. He pulled 29 more HP. 365 HP
Based on this data point, I'd guess your car is right in the normal range. We have seen posts from others with those add-ons that claim at least a 29 HP bump and often more like 35-40 HP. Thus, if you were within 29 HP of a C6 with those mods, either you and the other C6 are below average (less likely) or the other C6 is just fine and yours is right where it should be by comparison (more likely).
I think all of the numbers sound right between 340-350. My speed C6 baselined at 352RWHP/353RWTQ. After kooks high flow cats, and Magnaflows I dynoed 373/363 Res. After tunning I made 386RWHP/377RWTQ. It seems all of the above numbers are within norms.
Not convinced that breakin would account for that drastic a difference. You may remember I was there as a spectator with new C6 not ready for dyno yet. I recall other factors such as very damp day and no artificial bow wind. There was this other question of whether traction control was still on which was rumoured to skew results. Recall the mod'ed C6 you write about put some wind on the bow and was conscous of the traction control / act handling being off. You may be in better shape than you think. Looking fwd to the second set of results.

Looking forward to the next Dyno after an exhaust, some tuning, and others within the budget. The low figures from last week will make me feel better. I'm talking to a guy in NJ that my brother recommended. claims he's a wizard. Bob Ida of IDA Automotive. Have a renowned spy in the area, TommyD, CF member. Who's going to check out IDA.

What are the dyno operators doing to disable the ABS? I took mine in Thursday to a tech institute for them to test but they could not get it to work right on the two wheel dyno they have. I had numbers from 293 to 348 but there were ABS codes at each run. The first run showed 491 peak but it was just a spike. You should have seen the students faces when that number came across, at the time the students didn't know it was just a spike.
You da winna!! Highest #s I've seen for a stocker. Must have broken it in right. Or maybe it's that clean Texas air Good going guy.
I did break it in differently...I don't know if that was the key. I drove it home from museum delivery (very gently...keeping at less than 3,000 RPM) and changed to regular non synthetic (800 miles).I continued to drive it at less than 3000 RPM, adding 1,000 RPM at every additional 500 miles or so. At 2500 Miles I went ahead and started romping on it. I then changed the oil at 3,500 miles back to mobil one. The main reason why I did that was becuase my Z06 burned oil and I did not want that to happen! That same day I dynoed a bunch of other 6sp z51 cars all dyned and they all pulled around 340-346...I guess I have a good car !
