It's true the pleats run the wrong way.But, If you cut the primary covers off flush with the K&N's like I did the air now enters over the pleats evenly instead at the ends. Leave the secondary cover in place to protect the filters from water. Put a piece of foam rubber 2X2X1 with two way tape at the point over the air bridge where there is a small round piece of rubber. This will prop-up the cover enough to give a wide opening of air into the filters and sets the lower edge against the car to seal well against water. Gm did a good job of air intake,. They didn't leave much on the table for improvement. Even when Ed at LPE put a straight pipe in place of the stock air intake. They gained only 10 flywheel HP! That would be only 8.5RWHP
Yes there is a K&N that works. Even though the pleats are the wrong way, the filter still made more power than the stock one. There is not much power to be made in just filters, this is the best that is out there right now if you choose not to cut anything.
