Where did you run the wires through the firewall? Did you have to drill?
I didn't have to drill in the front. I passed the wires through the grommet behind the battery (had to cut it a little to open it up). But I did have to drill in the rear to get the cable into the cabin.
They have distances for each of the different manufacturers on how effecitvely they jam the LIDAR gun.
If someone could post pics of their install that would be excellent as I am also looking into installing a similar system (the Bel RX75 remote system).
I'm always eager to learn something new, will always say "I'm wrong" if necessary and will eat crow with no problem, but. I read your links plus others that I googled and I'm still going to have to withold judgement on them being effective or not.
Morris' link from above contains this statement:
"In five years of testing, Radar Roy has NEVER found one passive radar jammer or laser jammer that worked as advertised by jamming either police radar or laser.
Its FRAUD!
In the following page(s), Radar Roy takes on these companies with their fraudulent claims. "

Shopdog, where did you place the rear transeiver? I played with it today and if you mount it on the two upper plate screws it blocks the trunk keyhole (on a C6). Putting it on the lower screws makes it to stick out too much!

I think that the Radar Busters sight is talking about passive jamming, not active. With passive jamming I totally agree with you, it's a crock of crap. But Radar Roy from Radarbusters was at the testing done on www.speedzones.com. In fact they used his personal ride for some of the active LIDAR jamming tests. Here's a snipit from the speedzones sight about the active LIDAR jammers (the Laser Blinder product):
"The combination of bikes, a small silhouette car, and the big Ford pickup gave us various reflective targets both big and small to observe Laser Blinder’s effectiveness. After initial problems with the Harley’s rear mounted Blinder transponder not being level to the road and BMW’s Blinder coming lose fromits mount, all Blinders blanked all speed readings of all laser guns each time in the ninety runs attempted at the various laser guns."
This is listed under the Laser Countermeasures section about mid-way down on the page .

Radar Roy is correct, passive jammers do not work. The Shifter (and its Blinder competitor) are not passive systems. They are active laser emitters.

I put it at the bottom of the plate. It is fairly visible, but I don't have a license plate frame on my car. With a decorative frame, I suspect you could make it less noticable. An opportunity for vendors, make a license plate frame that is designed to incorporate the rear shifter module.
