Default Intake and Exhaust

Whats up guys I'm a noob to the forum. I just ordered the Borla exhaust (with the four tips), from what I researched their was no options besides the tips, just one exhaust from Borla for the C6. I also ordered the BBK intake. Just wanting to get some feedback from anyone with these products. Also I would like to get some headers but have had trouble finding any for the C6, anyone have headers? What Brand? Thanks alot guys

I'm not a big fan of borla, but it's your choice. Remember the way they have the mufflers you can't get to the oil plug to add oil once you've drained it. To service the rear end you might have to drop the mufflers first. Increasing labor time and money. As for BBK intake, if you mean a cold air intake, save your money. Put K&N's #33-2136's (2) in place of the paper filters. Cut off the primary covers flush with the K&N's leave the secondary cover in place to protect from water. Use a piece of 2 inch foam rubber to prop up the secondary cover over the air bridge to increase air flow over the filters. If you mean a manafold what you've got is damm good. Bang for the buck get long tube headers. Yes they make them. I have KOOKs system on my C6. the entire system is what you want. $1650 complete. About $350 to install. Good luck.

Doesn't the long tube headers require removal of the catalytic converters?

The kooks are a complete system. Headers, high flow cats and X-pipe
(one piece), and 02 extenders for the collectors and after the cats.

The KOOKS I'm looking at Bolt directly in the cats, supposedly they'll bolt right into the Borla exhaust, I'm kinda a newb in the auto modification dept., so these headers will bolt right into the exhaust, hopefully. Upon further research KOOKS is supposed to be the best.

Yes they will bolt to the exhaust. you'll need the two 2 ft sections of pipe that comes with your borla x-pipe. unfortually your borla x-pipe will no longer be needed.

i just ordered the borla stingers on friday...should be here next week!!! What version did you get the "street" or the "stingers"??? Street is more tame. From what i gather from your post there was only one option available to you for the exhaust?? Where did you order them from?? It seems some companies only have one exhaust available from Borla right now. However, westcoastcorvette.com has 2 available the street and the stingers...not to mention the best price around!!

At westcoastcorvette.com they show a "system 1" and a "system 2", and then they go on to state that system 2 is equivelent to the C5 stingers. So thats what you got right? system 2? Luckily I haven't paid for it yet so I'll call and let them know which system I want. Thanks for the help I may not have even noticed.

Default What Is The Best Headers And Exhaust System?

I had such great luck with Random Technologies products on my F-bodies, I am leaning that way. But, I would like your opinions!

I had Random's dual high flow Cats, their 3" y-pipe and Cat-Back exhaust on my 2000 Firebird Formula, I WAS AMAZED! WHY? Well, in 2002, I dynoed this car back to back with my new 2002 Formula Firehawk. Now, the prior car was suppose to have 310 hp and the later 345hp. All the 2000 had was the Random Tech high flow cats, 3" y-pipe, the Random Tech Cat-Back exhaust system, and a K&N filter!

My Firehawk was a later year production car so it had the Z06 intake and the Donaldson airlid & filter.
The 2000 was within 10hp and 14 ft. lbs. of torque of the 2002 Firehawk. Frankly I was shocked! We even dynoed again, opening my air box entirely on the 2002 Firehawk!

This was done on the Hot Rod Power Tour, at the Kansas City stop at Cheifs stadium. I WAS AMAZED and truly sold on the Random products.
Now, this new Corvette system has long tube headers, high flow Cats, x-pipe, and 3" stainless steel all the way back, w/4" dual wall tips and DUAL DUAL tips, looks SUPER!
Their dyno sheet shows consistent 17 to 20 RWHP! Check out www.randomtechnology.com and see the dyno for yourself
Dyno results: Max Power 372.4 vs 353.7 and Max Torque 368.3 vs 355.6
But I am willing to go with the best performance (and easier to install products)!

Let's hear your opinons please!!! IS THERE ANY OTHER SYTEM WITH BETTER NUMBERS???

Seriously considered them. But they look as if they'd wake the dead
