Default Change rear gears

Can anyone tell me what the degree of difficulty and expense is in changing out the rearend gearset in the 2005 Corvette? I would like to go from the AT stock 2.73 to 3.42.
Thanks,
John

I have seen folks advertise gears with install for a low of 750 to a high of 950.

Default Go with the 390s if you will be drag racing

If you will be drag racing, I recommend the 390 gears. More bite! better launch! Price is around what the previous response mentioned.

I believe the cost to change from 2.73's is higher then qouted here. Thr reason being that the carrier or pumpkin is different. If you had the 3.15 it would be the 750-950 range as it would not require extra parts. I was qouted almost 2k by a speed shop to change out my 2.73's on my old ls1.

We have the ability to upgrade any model of the C6 differential (2 or 3- series) for high performance use and have been building them for quite some time now. Many of the HD internal components, blueprinting techniques and HP metallurgical treatments we developed for the C5 unit will carry over to the C6 differential, so we have that area covered as well. Plus we've added a couple of new tricks for them here and there... Give us a call if you have any questions. (260)407-5455
