Well lets start with this... do you have the Z51 with 6 MN or Auto?
No Z51 but have 6MN? or auto?
and
the rear ratio question...depends on what you want... higher number generally means faster acceleration but lower gas mileage...lower the number better cruising with lower rpms thus better mileage..so for drap strip junkies love the high 3 or even low 4 rear ends

Well my vette is an auto...i don't think i have the Z51 but i might...
You see i am living in doha, Qatar...and the dealership here know nothing about the vette's options.....
Well i undrstand that 3.90 gears would be better for take off..But if you think about it that way would the 2.73 be better for the long run..meanning would it give me more or extra mph....?????
you should be able to determine what the ratio is by counting as you carefully hit the throttle to turn the wheels with the *** end off the ground, and in gear I would think...lots luck tho.
With the 2.73 I would guess the top end might be a little more, your gas mileage should be better (not if you drive like the rest of us !)
Don't know about the Z51 tho as I don't have it...maybe someone else can pitch in here and tell us if there is a distinguishing feature he could look for ?
I do know that going from the 2.73 to the optional 3.15 gains you all of A TENTH OF A SECOND 0 TO 60, so it really is not that big a deal. Bragging rights mostly.
It seems to me I saw a post somewhere here that you can obtain (for $ no doubt), the original build sheet from the corvette museum, which would list everything on the bad boy you have. All you need is the VIN.
Good luck !
