The generic design goals? Or one random sampling of a customer owned C6??
design goals or advertized ratings - here's what i'm driving at - a friend of mine test drove a c6 convertible (z51 6sp, i think) - said the low end performance wasn't that impressive - NO FLAME HERE. now, my understanding is that, from a performance standpoint, the z51c6 will damn near run with the current z06 - again no flames here i'm not sure of the stats, but the ls2 is rated at 400HP @ ???? rpm, and the torque is ??? @ ???? rpm! i'd just like to compare that to the current z06.
I haven't seen the graphs for quite some time so I can't give you the specifics. I remember that the torque curve looked surprisingly strong in the low rpms on the LS2 though.
That was backed up by my drive in a '05 vert. The low end performance was impressive to me (and I'm used to close to 500hp in my C5).
Do a search for a forum member 'Scissors', as he had the graphs posted from the GM introduction. I believe there is a direct LS6 versus LS2 overlay. The LS2 definately has a fatter torque curve that comes on stronger faster.
wow, from the torque curves, the ls2 should be more than a match for the ls6. that 5 hp advantage shouldn't amount to a hill of beans. i'm sorta thinking my friend maybe blowin' a little smoke -
This includes a dyno pull of a stock LS2 wherein they
duplicate the GM hp rating (make sure you read the stuff
on the SAE correction factors) and provide a numeric
table of the data.
those curves need some work. No wonder ppl want the LS2 edit.
Torque curve should be flat. 380-400 ftlbs from 1500 rmps up to 5500 where it crosses the HP curve. The HP curve should climb to 6400 then drop. if redline is 6500 RMPs
