I'm fairly new to the forum (got C6 2 weeks ago). Anybody have info on CAI for the C6?

Honker supposedly has a good one. ive heard a few things on K&N too.

dont expect any significant HP gains though. many dyno tests have shown (on this forum) that CAI produce almost no gains whatsoever.

because of that, im probably not going to do the mod. good look with your search

A drop in filter and a CAI are two different things. I grew up with induction sound as part of the auditory experiance and I miss it on newer cars. For that reason Im going to get an open element intake. If a gain a few ponies, fine. If not then I will still be happy with the improved sound.

On an auto I got 367.5 HP at the rear wheel which translates to 418 at the engine - so I got 18 more horses - this is from a dyno.

That might make sense since the dyno doesn't provide a ram air effect. A better intake box may perform better with actual driving conditions.

Thanks andreas g.

Is it a perfect fit ? Just take out the stock and these just drop in ?
(Nothing to modify)

I'm assuming I will need to order 2 , Is that right?

How did you determine this?

I am not very savvy about all this horse power stuff - I was told in a previous post on this forum that 367.5 at the rear wheel translates to 418 at the motor - as for the 367.5 at the rear wheel this is from a dyno which I will try to scan - Breathless Performance installed a Vortex Air Rammer - they also put on Corsa Sports - and then did a dyno 367.5 at the rear wheels at 5900 RPM - maybe 367.5 does not = 418 at the motor - I am a novice about this but unless breathless gave me a fake dyno it is 367.5 at the rear wheel on an automatic.

I was told the shroud is about sixty bucks (???)

If so, then it becomes virtually a non-issue

I can remember picking up a spare lid back in the late 80's to cut the louvered section out of my (C4) air cleaner lid, saving the original...

Amazing stuff - nothing new
