Default c6 with no mufflers

1. will the check engine light come on if i take off my mufflers?
i ask because im thinking of getting the qtec System (the electric exhaust cutouts)
2. will it add any horsepower?
3. will it melt anything?
since the exhaust is exiting under the car the heat would biuld up at a stop light or something

Just get the electric cutouts so you can open and close when you want.

Should add 10-20 HP and if they are installed correctly IAW manufacturer quidelines there will not be an issue. There are pics of installations on some websites

no check engine lights, no melting, and no problems....just have fun!

My Z28 had its cutout coming off the down pipe right under the passanger seat (close to the tranny) asside from the noise there were no issues at all. Cut outs toward the back of the car are even safer/etc.
