I want to replace my stock exhaust system with the Corsa Touring version. However, I was told that i would gain about 16 hp and some mid-range torque, but that i would get slower 0-60 times due to decreased back-pressure is this true or just BS?
Yep, BS. Have you considered installing the sports and seeing how you feel about the sound level? Very few have gone on to add the touring because the sport is really pretty mellow unless your flogging it.
Crabman, I really want to keep the car quite at cruise like it is now,But i want a really good sound when i jump on it. Will the sport do that?
Yes it will. In fact this is what the corsa does best. It is barely noticeable at cruise. Get on it and it rips quite a bit better than the stock exhaust. A little bit of extra oomph at idle but not obnoxious. They are not lying when they say zero resonance either. Remember that one of the cool things about the corsa's is that you can install the sports and if you decide it is too loud you can add the touring conversion to further mellow it out. The touring is just the mid section with the little resonaters in it added to the sport. Even my wife who hates loud exhausts likes the sports better than the stock exhaust which she didnt want to see get changed. As I said very few have gone on to add the touring conversion after giving the sports a listen. You may be someone that will want it, but there is little reason to spend the money on the touring until you check out the sports first and see where you stand.
Thanks for the reply fellas. I went to the Corsa webpage and there isnt a noticeable difference between the touring and sport(at least not to me). If the sport doesnt give off a whole lot of cabin noise at cruise speed then i will go with that. I just love the Corvette being so quiet and smooth when cruising, but i hate the Wide open throttle sound... much too tame.
I think I had pretty much the same priorities as you do before I opted for the Corsa Sports. I liked the low noise levels while cruising, but felt the stock system was just too bland for a 400 hp high perfromance car. The Corsa Sports ARE loud when you punch the throttle, in fact they are louder than stock with any throttle applied. The great thing about them, however, is that when cruising you can barely hear them at all. They have a rich and throaty sound when you open the car up at all, and a quiet and docile sound when the engine is loafing along. To me, it seems like the perfect compromise. Even my wife, who thought they were way too loud when I first go them, now thinks they sound just fine.
As an aside; I bought my Coras Sports used from board member FLC6. He sold them because of objections from his wife. After re-installing and driving with the stock system for a few weeks, he re-ordered the Corsa Sports and now has them on his C6 again.
Also note, that without the X pipes, the Corsa will "burble" when you back off the throttle. Some like it, some don't. Personally, I like the sound of the pipes "burbling".

Shop around............you'll expect to pay 900 - 950 for Quad 3.5" tips.
definately purchase the Sports.......I have them and they have NO interior resonance, unlike some others out there.
I got mine for $650, through the "demo plan" from a GM dealer.
I have the Corsa Sports and the BB X pipe...I think it is a great balance of sound... tonal and db... and more importantly it does not beat your eardrums to death while cruising.
Also I posted this info on another forum (there is more to the post I just cut out the part relative to your thread):>>>>
The dyno analysis is in three parts (disclaimer before dyno gods speak...yes there are many variables in dyno testing and I only use the numbers as comparatives and not statement of absolute fact) (results are at the wheel and not crank):
-Baseline dyno with total stock set up
-Dyno with Corsa Sport exhaust with BB X mid pipe
-Dyno with LPE head/cam package
Prior to sending my C6 to LPE I had installed the Corsa Sport with the X mid pipe. Based on pre and post exhaust dyno runs the result of adding the Corsa Sport with X mid pipe is:
342 torque to 350 torque: net + 8 lbs torque
343 HP to 352 HP: net + 9 HP
These numbers place the expected net gains pretty much where Corsa said they would be. I do not believe the X pipe created more peak HP or torque but rather created more in the mid rpm range.
