Does CAGS eliminator also eliminate reverse lockout?
I have a late model C-6 Z51 with the six speed manual. Prior to delivery, I asked that a CAGS eliminator be installed to obviate the 1 to 4 shift program. The sales manager declined to do so, claiming the CAGS eliminator also eliminated the reverse lockout, which meant I could inadvertently shift from fourth to reverse when I was trying to get fifth. Was he right? Does installation of the CAGS eliminator sold here at Corvette Forum also disable the reverse lockout when the car is in motion? If so, I'd rather live with the CAGS feature than take a chance on trashing the gearbox by a missed fourth to fifth shift. Please advise!

Actually I've wondered about that myself.
Butt......it sure didn't stop me from putting in a CAGS eliminator!
There is NO WAY you're gonna go from 4th into reverse unless you are smashing that lever thing around without any regard for where you're jammin' it!!!!
Selecting reverse while I'm driving is a non-issue for me. Selecting the gear I want to be in is. That's why I put in the CAGS eliminator.
No the cags elim does not have anything to do with reverse lock-out.
The 1-4 shift is operated by a solenoid on the side of the transmission, the elim goes in the harness to keep the solenoid from activating. The reverse lockout has nothing to do with the cags solenoid.
