Default What's The secret?

What's the secret to getting clean windows? I have tried many "streak free" cleaners, cloths, paper towels and most recently the new paper towel made just for windows. Thanks for any help.

One of the best products that I have tried is Meguiar's 20/20 glass cleaner. Use a clean towel to wiipe it off quickly followed by another clean dry towel. I have seen others use dry crumpled newspapers with good results as a final wipe. I have found that a damp chamois works well to remove haze from inside glass. Cleaning auto glass is one of the toughest jobs in detailing a car.

Thats a good topic...I have used every kind of windex and paper towel and once you put the car in the sun the windshield looks like crap..Yesterday I went to a professional car detailing shop and I explained this issue and heres the problem guys..Car windshields are coated with a protectant of somekind which causes this. He sold me a special rag made just for this. I tried it out today and wow, its perfect.I will post the name of the material tomorrow after I call them

I've had great results with Stoners also, but not the first time I tried it. I use it with microfiber towels (on cool glass in the shade of course) and the trick is to not let it dry by itself. I rub it on with one towel, and use a second one immediately after to dry it off completely. I'm sure there are other methods that will also give you great results. Good luck!

The inside of my windshield has what looks like a spray of something on it. I've tried everything and so far nothing will touch it. Very annoying. At some point I will figure out how to get this stuff off.

And use a microfiber towel to wipe it down, no muss, no fuss.

I use a bucket of windex/water and a hand towel. I place a regular size towel on the dash or doors, scrub the window then squeege it. Works great, just a little messy.

Give Z-12 a try. It has removed spots that I have not been able to remove with several different methods. You can find more information on it here

I use Stoner's Invisible Glass and get this - CHEAP paper towels. If you buy the generic ones, they don't have all the softening goop in them, so there's nothing to make streaks. Never tried the newspaper but hear it works - I have a thing against ink on my fingers.

Stoner's Invisible Glass, or
Meguiar's NXT Glass Cleaner.
Use with a microfiber towel that you only use for glass cleaning.

When dealers do the pdi they're supposed to clean the protectorant film off the windows but never do.I used 3m Glass polish, but its only commercially available ( auto body supplies).Once you remove that horrible film you can use anything.
