I apologize for doubting and also my cracks about being in 8th grade. I had 2 Grand Prix's and torque steer was a problem and they were stock. How does yours fare in that department? If your ever in Pa. with that bad boy---I'll take you up to Pocono and we'll have a go at it on a 2.5 mile track.

the z51 has the same rear axle ratio as the mn6. the z51 has a slightly different gear ratio in the tranny but not so much so as to make it so the driver isn't the difference. it only results in a .1 diff. in the quarter. the major diff. on the z51 is the suspension. the brakes are relative. if your doing any serious autocross, etc. you have a set of brakes for the track. the z51 has a stiffer full-time suspension, unlike the f55, it does not have different suspension settings. it is a more sports car stiff ride that is a true representation of a sports car. the f55 provides a limited quality of a comfort and track mode (selectiable).

there were/have been a couple dyno sheets posted in this forum, just try a search.

Yeah I can understand that.

I would trade my car for a C6 in a heartbeat.

Sir? Before posting another thread - please remember to take your Ritalin to calm the effects of the ADHD that runs rampant in your thoughts and are translated in your typing of the story. Its like reading my 13 year olds book report.

Hey - it killed another 4 mins off my day in reading it all...so in the end I thank you.

At his house a block ahead he gets out of the car and is laughing, so I ask him, "want to race just for fun?"
He replies, "you don't stand a chance in this, how about my other vette." I look over where he is pointing and its a C4, so I say "ok but I dont think it will be close". He says he has mods on it so I figured what the hell, not like I had anyone else to run.

GTP v C4:
We get out on the freeway and he floors it right away, so I do the same and quickly overtake his jump and run by him. So we turn around heading back towards his house, he is yelling out the window, I figure he is upset or something, but instead he says, "Do you want to run the other one?" I said "hell yeah!"

GTP v C6:
I new he would hit it right away this time so I was more prepared and when he did floor it, I pulled immedeatly from 20mph to about 80-85mph. Which was when he appeared to slow down a little. At that moment I then ran out of fuel, LOL, so while I filled up he was telling me he missed 3rd at 85mph and wanted to race again.
This time on the way back we went from about 60mph and were dead even. When we shut down at 125-130mph, I was quarter-half a car ahead. What a race, I thanked the guy out the window and in doing so I missed his turn to go back to his house. When I looked back I saw a cop pulling him over.

Sucks, I hope the cop was leniant. On the other hand it is nice to know I can pull a C6 up top with 91pump/catback+seats in/2.8pulley(13psi) . I knew it would be close but I did not expect to pull on him from 100-130mph.

What a freaking rush, I wish I had a mounted camera...
Way too much time on your hands! A basically stock Gran Prix GTP, say did you take the 115MPH speed limiter off?

If you want to brag, Go race a ligenfelter TT C6.. Sounds like that is closer to the mods you have compared to a stock C6.

Then let's see what you say. In the meantime, Go to the drugstore and get a douche. Try it out and report back to us on the experiance. We are all waiting to see if that was fun.

Why is everone being sooo mean to this guy. If he is excited about his encountered and wants to share, nothing wrong with that. It seems like everyone is always ready to judge before knowing the facts. I never understand when people comment about "Our thread starter only has 2 posts" ...so what...we all started with 1 or posts once and we shouldn't jump all over a new member and leave a bad impression. Most people take this too serious...hey calm down and relax, even if he is lying who cares? Read it and if you have nothing positive to say don't waste your time and move on.

I just raced at the track yesterday and there was a vette guy from some board that runs 11.7@118 in a C5 ragtop with a 150shot. He saw my car and knows what it can run.

I have posted my 11.9@114 vid and have other low 12sec vids as well. I also have timeslips from every month of this year running this car at sacramento.

The C6 Z51 manual is an awesome car but it lost this race.
I wont be posting any more kill stories since they are not allowed , but I may be getting a vette in the future and love these cars.

My car has alot of weight reduction and I believe it now weighs about 3250 with me in it. The speed limiter for the 04Comp G GTP is 149mph, but yes I have it removed. I have never gone over 135mph though, and try to follow the age old rule never go faster than your trap speed. )

The car weighs about 3600 stock.

You guys are harsh, I mean I have nothing but respect for these cars, and just wanted some fun competition. The vette guy was happy and excited as well. Not sure why there is so much hate here?
