Just back from the first Dyno run on my Z51 6spd. 32xx miles,easy breakin, the only mod is the Magnaflow #14336 mufflers and tips.No scanner so I can't post the graph but;
SAE corrected (1.05 factor)
Smoothing 3
349.91 peak HP @ 5800-5900 RPM
346.61 peak Torque @ 4000 to 4800 RPM
Nice flat TQ curve, over 300#'s from 2000 to 6000 RPM.
Linear HP curve, nearly a straight line from 150HP @ 2000 RPM to the 350HP peak @ 6000 RPM.
A/F was consistent 12.5 : 1 after full throttle @1800 RPM except I tried some thing different for the second run, instead of flooring it @ 1800 he gradually applied throttle until 3500 RPM and then floored it, Changed was the A/F ratio, instead of a constant 12.5 it was 14.7 A/F until he floored it then the same 12.5 : 1. I lost maybe 30#'s TQ and 15 HP at part throttle but once he floored it at 3500 the graphs are the same.
Brand new shop with an in-floor Dyno, knowledgable people with a good attitude (and good prices) just minutes south of Austin in Buda.
I'm real happy with the results, now I have a baseline to compare to.
American Racing technology in Buda. Turns out one of the guys at the shop is a Viper specialist that used to work at Maxwell Dodge in Austin, he did some work on my SRT-4 and did all my Dyno runs on it. Austin sure is a small city for a million population, everywhere I go I keep running into people that I used to know.
How did you break the car in? Following the manual or did you drive it hard? What mileage was it dyno'd at? Thanks,
Joe
At the top of my post: "easy breakin, 32xx miles". Did an oil and filter change at 600 miles, the car still hasn't seen the rev limiter, rarely sees red line but gets full throttle and fast shifts every day.
Just some advice....throw some non syn oil in it!!!! It allows the rings to seat better. You have some great numbers!
352.1 RWHP342.5 RWTQ were my numbers!

Your results are better than mine in HP but less in TQ? Different Dyno!
I don't know about G.M. but Dodge sets the PCM rich for the first 3,000 miles. If it's running rich it should help with the ring seating, the rich A/F mix helps wash some oil off the cylinder walls (and helps keep combustion temps down).
The A/F on my Dyno dropped to aprx 12.2 : 1 at 5,000 RPM to shut off, but that was with a tailpipe sniffer, not a wideband. I hope that changes to leaner with more miles.

Just talked to Charles at A.R.T., he said $50.00 for 2 pulls with A/F for anybody that wants to have their car dyno'd. Call A.R.T. @
