How do you remove the trunk release button?
Hard way:
Remove the rear fascia, etc....
Easy way:
1. Remove the inner passenger side taillamp
2. Reach in and feel the switch, there are two plastic tabs that you need to push in, then the switch will come down. You will need to unplug it to get it out all the way. Make sure you keep track of the cable, it is not fun to try to find it.
3. Push the new switch in and reconnect it.
This is the way they were doing it at the clinic, I think it took him about 5 minutes per vehicle....
Personally I would do this operation myself, but if you do take it to a dealer make sure they do it the easy way, you don't want them taking your whole vehicle apart, drilling out rivets, prying on it, etc... Everything can be done with just the torx bit to remove the one screw for the rear headlamp
Good Luck All!
