Default B&B Exhaust

I have a new C6 and it has been recommended to put on the B&B sport after market exhaust system. Has anyone used B&B exhaust or another after market exhaust? I can get these with installation for $1300.00. Does anyone have any comments about this? I am more interested in performance and not volume. I don't want a real loud exhaust

Thanks
Rick

Speaking of C6 exhaust systems, does anyone recommend any particular brand for the C6? I've heard that Corsa and Dynomax make a good system as well, and was hoping to get some opinions before buying.

Also, if you have a recommended brand, how much louder is it from the stock sound? I’m looking for something a little more aggressive than stock, but no where near “Borla” loud.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Don't know of any B&B Sport for the C6, none on their website. However, I've got the Route 66 and they are excellent.

I would highly recommend you look at trying to get to a meet so you can hear the options in person. Most of them are close enough in price and performance that sound will be your primary reason to choose one over another. I think at this point most folks will be ready to concede that only the Corsa's will be truly resonance free for most people. Several of the options such as the route 66, stingers, ghl, are reported to have minor drone but not enough to be a deal breaker for most who have purchased them. Your own sensitivity to the issue will have to guide your choice. IMO dont be hasty, listen to the options and then make up your mind.

I don't care how loud it is, the Route 66 is the best looking one I've seen so far. I love how the tips angle up:

You can get the bullets with the same tips. They just dont have all that annoying sheet metal keeping the sound in.

Nobody has addressed the fact yet that there are two B&B systems. The Bullets - which are quite loud (I have them), and the Route 66 system which is quiter, has a deeper tone than Corsas, and IMHO have no resonance at all (I have ridden in a coupe with them).

If you want loud and are willing on compromising some interior noise, it does not get any better than Bullets. If you don't want too loud, I highly recommend the Route 66 system

I have now had three B&B systems - their service is great and they are excellent to deal with. I recommend giving Paul at West Coast Corvettes a shot at them. He posts here on the forum quite a bit.

I agree that for service and quality you can't beat B&B. I've also been to their factory and had B&B systems on both a Tahoe and a 350Z - the sound on both had too much "drone" for my preference. As many have said it's an individual preference - loved the looks hated the sound. Have the Corsa Sport on the C6 and really like the sound so far.

I'm sorry to be the wet blanket, but I'm not too happy with my B&B Route 66. I had the B&B PRT's on my C5, but they don't make those for the C6. I live here in Phoenix where B&B has their shop, so I called them from the dealer, and they recommended the Route 66 because my C6 is an automatic. They said there was too much resonance with the Bullits on an A4. Sorry to say, there is a very irritating interior resonance at about 1500-1600 RPM, which is where my vert likes to cruise at. I had them install an x-pipe this week with some "resonators" in it that was supposed to help, But it did not. They still want to work with me to get rid of the resonance, to I tip my hat to them on that, but I'm thinking of calling GHL which is also here in town.

Agreed, if the A4 cruises at 1500, there is a drone at that RPM. But, my MN6 cruises in either 5th or 6th at around 2000 RPM and it's gone at that level. Maybe not for the A4, but it rocks in the MN6.

To answer your original question:

If you don't want volume, don't get B&B bullets...those are made to wake you up. No exhaust mod will get you very much in the way of performance on a C6, unless you're talking headers.

I have the B&B Route 66 with the oval tips and they are awesome.......My installer said it was the best quality system he has EVER installed................the entire stainless steel system looks as beautiful as chrome, including the mufflers.

They have a nice muscle car rumble to them............

I have Borlas but...

One member (Steve Miller) put on BB Bullets canned them in a week for Corsas (too loud).

Another (StanleyP) installed Rt66's and is looking to change for being too quiet, as another mentioned above.

Everyone who has Borlas or Corsas are happy

Steve's not the only one who removed the bullets. Someone else posted that he did the same thing about 3 weeks ago.
