I was thinking of going with a F.A.S.T intake. However, I was told that the LS6 would do well too. Does the LS6 intake flow better than the LS2 intake?

Thanks

In many cases people have found that it does yes...though most will agree that the FAST intakes do flow even better yet.

Thanks for the reply. My main concern with the F.A.S.T intake is that for the LS2 cutting is involved. Also, I can probably get a LS6 intake for less. Since the LS6 intake does flow better than the LS2 I may consider this mode. Thanks again.

Can the LS6 manifold be ported for additional air flow and to be able to match up to the 90mm throttle body that comes with the LS2's?

Yes it can be ported where it meets the heads but not enough in the TB area accept a 90mm TB without serious modification/adaptation (if at all), plus the bolt pattern issue (4 bolts on the 90mm set ups, only 3 on the LS6 intake and it's corresponding TBs).

Won't the car need to be tuned with this mod?

Roughly equal in most cases yes...but before that I would still recommend going with a FAST 90mm intake and using your stock ported 90mm TB on it (though it might be a bit 'much' on a stock motor)...even the FAST 78mm with a ported stock C5 TB (providing the throttle by wire set ups correspond) might be good on an otherwise stock internal motor.

LS1LT1, I'm getting LG headers soon and was wondering how much additional HP the F.A.S.T intake would add. Have you heard of any results from the intake? The ad says 20hp.

It can be up to 20rwhp on the LS2, especially with headers and tuning...in most LS1/LS6 cases though the FAST 90mm set up only shows any real gains with an aggressive heads and cam package and/or stroker motor set up. It just so happens that the LS2 intake is more restrictive than was originally thought so the swap can possibly show some nice gains on even an internally stock LS2 motor (this somewhat contradicts what I had stated earlier btw LOL).

Interesting...I may go ahead and add this. If so, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thanks
