Default Power Top Problem(s)

Okay, I think I should have ordered a manual top. Here's why... Top stops in the middle of the cycle. No problem, let off the switch and push it again. Problem solved. 2 days later top won't go up, take to local dealer, they claim to fix it by rebooting the conputer module, cycle the top at the dealer driveway, on third try, it's back to pushing the button twice and later stopping altogether in the down position. Another power vert owner suggests that I take the car to a Cadillac dealer since the XLR is made at the same factory on the same line, & has a power vert top (bad idea). The Cadi dealer enthusiastically says they can fix the prob, takes the car, runs into probs., calls GM for guidance, GM tells them to stop work on the car and tell the owner (me) to go to a Chevy dealer. The Cadi dealer gives me my car back with the tonneau cover so badly out of alignment that it is sitting on the top edge of the trunk which will now not open. The truck also has a scratch in it now. Take the car back to where I bought it; they say they can fix the problems, they rent me anything GM makes except a Vette, XLR, GTO or SSR (the fun cars to drive). It has been 10 days since leaving it with them, they are waiting for back ordered parts to come in and I'm stuck driving GM's version of a Sherman Tank, an Escalade. Ain't life grand. And to think, I paid an extra 2 grand for all this joy! What do you know about the California Lemon Law?
