Ordered my car through Kerbeck. It was shipped from Bowling Green to Kerbeck and then shipped across the country to Calif. I picked it up yesterday from the truck, and it had only 3 miles on the odometer. How can that be? I thought they test drove the cars at Bowling Green, and maybe when the dealer does the prep. I'm not complaining at all, I'm just surprised.
I have not heard or read anything that indicated ALL C6s were test driven. I'm pretty sure when the cars are hauled across the country on the car haulers, they pull onto the dealer's lot to load & unload them. Where's the mileage going to come from?
On the Go! Corvette show I watched, they said that every car is road tested at 70 M.P.H. and then driven over the bumps for the squeak and rattle test.

Several people on this forum claim to have only 3 miles on their car when they got it. Either the people on the show or some people on this forum don't know what they're talking about or else it takes only 3 miles to do all that testing.
The speed and braking test is done right inside the factory right after it comes off the alignment racks. The car holds still and the drums or whatever they are called under the wheels move kind of like a dyno test type of deal in the floor..
Don't know nothing about the bump/squeek/rattle testing.
I too got my car from kerbeck - had 15 miles on it. i thought that was kind of high. salesman said its from the testing they do. I picked my car up right afte they unloaded it, so im pretty sure that nobody was "joyriding" it....

From what we saw at factory, right after final inspection booth they run it about 50 feet forward over bumps on floor and into the dyno-type booth for run-up. And when we were there, they weren't exactly moving em between the two booths in a slow, leisurely manner. Thought the rep at factory said they pull one outta line every once in a while and take it for test drive out on road around factory. From what I remember, anyway.

I saw this done at the END of the assembly line - not outdoors or anything fancy...
Mine had 3 miles on it and still had some plastic wrapper on it.

When your car reaches the end of the automated line it is driven for the first time to the alignment bay. It is then driven to the dyno test where is is taken up to 70 mph while multiple computer tests are conducted. If it passes this test and there are no other flaws that were detected during the final inspection process, your car turns to the right (if it does not pass it goes to the left to be repaired) and is driven into the water leak test booth where it is bombarded by water jets. If it passes this test it is driven out back to the test track where it makes a short run down one side and up the other over bumps and such to check for handling and rattles. If it passes this test it is driven to the parking lot where it remains until loaded for delivery. All of these movements are very short distances. I would guess that 3 miles would be the average for a car that passed all of those tests and did not get driven around at the dealership.

neither does GM.........................mine obviously never had this "testing" or...................... they let it "pass' and let me purchase it..............to do the testing for them! I have one noisey C6......a Stagecoach would be more quiet.
