Just installed the VR-3 (Velocity Stack) and took screen out on the mass air flow. I started the C6(6-spd) idles good, I get about 500 feet, engine dies. THen when starts it says "Reduced Engine power" I can barely get it home. That was yesterday. Today disconnected battery for 45 minutes. Same thing again. I could call Vararam, they probably won't know. Can anyone help? I'll take it back to stock if not.

I always believe in the you touched it theory. Recheck everything you touched. I'd bet the MAF connector or internal hot wires may be at fault. Disconnect, check all the pins, reconnect. Look real close at the maf heated wires inside, make sure none were broken. They are extremely fragile, kind of look like a bulb element and can break that easy.
If all is OK, try putting the MAF screen back in. Maybe the airflow is just not right for the MAF if it's calibrated to read with the screen in.
Looking at the service manual at the trouble codes relating to MAF. Once the problem is corrected it takes three key cycles to turn off the Check engine light (MIL). Then 40 key cycles to clear the code from history.
So if you do find something, don't panic if the warning lights don't go out right away. Give it a few more short drives and restarts.
I did also change the theromostat yesterday, from stock, to 160. It lost fluid, I filled the overflow, cranked it. Let it sit, filled up last night, it was a little low today, filled to the top today. But it did not say low antifreeze. I did cut my finger on one of the small electrodes. It bled right away(my finger) maybe I broke the electrode or blood on it. I'll check.
Thanks
Larry
