You cannot take what you see at a DE as gospel. What you are seeing is the differences in DRIVERS, not cars, at DE's. 99% of the individuals at DE's cannot milk 100% out of thier cars, hell, sometimes they can't milk 70% out of them. The ONLY way to compare cars at a DE is to take one of the most experienced drivers out there that has CONSISTANT lap times and have them drive both cars. That might tell you a little more.
Forget C/D-worthless...in the real world of testing this past spring at the Nurbergring...the best Prosche could get out of the new Cayman was an 8' 11" lap time (actually damn good)..but that time was beaten by the 'newly improved' 2006 C6 Z51...which ran a time of 7' 59"..with jan magnusan (spelling) behind the wheel...and those test results came out of the mouth of Dave Hill at Sonoma ALMS...
But is that really fair testing? anyone here (without being on LSD) really think they could out drive Jan Magnsun or the professional race driver that Porsche was using???? In other words--you in the improved 2006 C6 Z51 and Jan M in the Cayman going head to head at the Ring.and it ain't gonna be even close other than, you lose...

That's a good comparo ( aside from the fact that the Cayman has about a 100 hp deficit to the C6, and at the "ring that is huge ), but what was stated in earlier posts was not. What was specifically said was someone see's C6's outhandling 911's all the time at DE's, they were not talking about the Cayman.
As for a lap time, well, the new Z06 only bested the 911 GT3 RS by .1 second at the 'ring, so a C6 Z51 would get crushed. Since the arguement that was ORIGINALLY being made was that the C6 Z51 can better a 911 rear engine setup in handling, YOU lose........
