well, get a new one here http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=12499750

Did you expect the stock C6 engine to come for such a low price? I did not!
Stock engine of my VW Golf cost almost the same...

Wouldn't we just go LS7 if we do something wacky to the engine? Or is there more to it than just putting it in the car and adding a new front fascia for RAM AIR?

you need to add the dry sump oil system which means moving the battery ETC.

$5,250 vs. ~$13,000 plus moving things like the battery and installing the dry sump.

Kinda makes you want to go out and blow your engine up, just so you can take advantage of a good deal!

That's not the total price -- this is GM Parts Direct, they generally have VERY high shipping charges.

The price with shipping is "approximately" $5,625.00. Still not too bad for a brand new LS2.

One engine for modding... or just looking great on an engine stand in the garage.

There are a few business laptop computers that sell for near this price... I'll take the LS2!

I have a feeling this could become one popular boat motor...

I absolutely agree with boat motor idea...

I friend of mine was replacing recently his 5.7l Chey boat engine; engine alone was costing him 11k USD

if you run in salt water you will need a heat exchanger to cool the engine because you can not run salt water thru aluminum very long without a problem. the cast iron engines with aluminum intakes and such have the aluminum coated inside to prevent damage. the 11:1 CR of the new 427 is pretty high for a boat engine unless you run racing gas because a boat engine is under full throttle a lot more then a car. we went thru this when we tried to L-88 engines on sunoco 103 octane in boats, the detonation tuliped the valves into the heads
