Default Ordered AFR 205s

I just ordered all the parts for my setup and my car goes into the shop August 4th for the head/cam swap. My goal was to keep as much refinement as possible but make good power. I decided to use the Thunder Racing CheaTR cam (designed to run with stock manifolds).
The cam is more aggressive than it looks because of the ramp rates ect... Should be worth 15-20 over an 02Z06 cam. The negative 10 overlap also will make it idle like stock. - Perfect sleeper!

AFR 205s milled .035 to achieve 11.1 compression
Cam - 214/230 .601 / .578 117 LSA (similar to the C6Z06 cam)
Honker Intake

Any guesses on the HP????
A guy on ls1tech made 394 with this setup on an A4 LS1...

I ran the 205s on my C5 and loved them. Great heads. Sounds like a great setup.

You're having them milled .035", then putting them on an LS2? That will yield WAY over 11:1. Mine were milled .024" and they would have put my LS2 at 11.4:1, too high for my needs, so I sold them.

Were you running the .040 gasket or the stock gasket?

I never ran them on my LS2. The bore is larger for LS2, so the same combustion chamber size will yield higher compression on the LS2 than it will on the LS1/6.

The stock LS2 heads at 65cc, along with the stock .054 gasket will yield around 10.9:1 (this is the stock set up). Milll the AFR .035, and you'll be around 59cc. That's real tight for a street LS2, if that's what your planning. Without knowing the specifics of your combo, I'd suspect that you'll be around 11.8:1 with the stock gaskets, and higher with an .040 gasket.

That cam is a nice choice for keeping the idle quality pretty good seeing it is a 117lsa. It has nice exhaust duration and great lift, Your torque won't break 400 ft./lbs. at the wheels without headers. SAE 425rwhp/380 ft./lbs. range is my guess.

Nobody can tell you exactly without measuring how far "out of the hole" the pistons are in your block. They vary.

You already know that the stock engine is 10.9 using a .054 gasket and 65 cc heads.

Stock AFRs at 66cc and a Cometic .040" gasket will put you very close to 11.1, maybe a little over.

Sounds about right, I just figured it... My math may be off but this is what I did....

Stock CR is 10.9/1 at 64.45 ccs
The AFR heads are 66 cc
1.55 difference in cc size
1.55 * .006 = .0093 will get me back to 10:9/1

Using the Cometic .40 gasket or milling .0141 should put me right at 11:1
