Is anyone performing it in Northern Virginia? I am looking for someone to tune my car after the peak Corvette weather, say in November or December.
Unfortunately, my plans for a cam and head replacement fell through when the vendor raised his prices dramatically so I am no looking for alternatives.
I would do $350.00 (if I am not happy with the power we get than I charge less) each if we had 7 cars and the cost of dyno (extra) is going to vary from place to place. Look for a reasonable Dyno facility like $100/hr or less and we can make this happen. I am grateful you guys are interested and I will bend over backwards for you. You cannot beat Custom dyno tuning. Afterwards we take each car on the street and flog it and make sure she is not pinging, a true roadtest. I can bring some parts light stuff intakes, shifters, etc.
Thank you in advance.
God Bless

No prob with emissions. The changes will not alter AF enough at the lower RPMs to change anything. Even if there was a cam and head combo in thre I feel we can make it meet the emissions.
People often mistake tuning as getting CELs and hurting emissions. NO. If anything we are going to try to make the fuel trims in line the way they are supposed to be, the way GM designed it FOR EMISSIONS COMPLIANCE. We make sure the vehicle is running properly and not going to set any CELs. We correct problems (and possible future problems) instead of create them. We are trying to make the most power while not destroying the enviroment. We often have increases in MPG when we add timing in the lower loads and correct fuel trims.
However, On my "Off road" C5 I removed the High Flow RT cats and gained 11RWHP and 11RWTQ. Just thought some of you should know what you are leaving on the table with the cats.
BTW Gentlemen I do have software support for GM cars Y and F from 85-05 and most trucks as well.
I would like to meet before Nov or Dec. I will probably be planning a trip to PA in late Oct or sept.

I would be glad to help with this... I can set up dyno at Curry's Automotive in Ashburn/Sterling Va. (very near Rt 28/Dulles Airport area)... Mustang Dyno. I already have a LPE setup and do not want to mess with their tune...just an offer to set up dyno.

I only have two "worries" at this point, neither of which would likely stop me from doing this, but they are worries nonetheless:
(1) Being very early in the C6 tuning arena, I'd be a little concerned that tuning and the ability to better control (or turn off) TM would improve over time. With a "long distance relationship" like this, what happens if some concern comes up 2 weeks after you return home? For example, what happens if some problem is discovered where people want (some) TM put back in, or what if we discover ping only after a week of driving? Or... what if you just get better at your tuning as you discover more variables/tables to edit over time?
(2) One of the main reasons for me getting the tune is to remove TM as that seems to be a pretty big detriment to performance. At this time though, I'm not confident that anyone knows the true risks of removing it. Will it shorten engine life or drivetrain life? Will people start breaking trannies or CV joints on sticky tracks eventually if TM is turned off?
Thanks for any insights on the above. Again, just some nagging worries, nothing more.
I see that you guys are looking for a dyno to use to tune your cars. I would be willing to offer our dyno which is a dynojet. I would offer it for $100hr. Its in house at our 6000sqft facility. Let me know what you think. The only proplem is that we are 1 1/2 hrs north of columbus. So distance might be a issue, but I thought I would throw out my invite. Thanks joel
Of course, going this route makes it even more imperative that I settle on the brand(s) of headers and hi-flow cats and get them ordered/installed/run for at least 100 miles prior to the tuning.
GMR, we certainly thank you for your offer but we're trying to stay a little closer to home, but, again, thanks.
C6First, I, we, would appreciate that as I was going to ask that could someone look into an available dyno. Jeremy would need a minimum of 7 of us, with deposits made before he flys (he'll have to specify how much of a deposit). I would prefer anytime after late August as my build date is the eighth of August
With the DynoJet preference and the fact there are several in the area (Maryland and Woodbridge Va) it looks like my offer for the Mustang Dyno is off...still be interested in observing or even dynoing my LPE set up...
Michael
Count me in. (Also depending on final cost.)
I'm also interested in an intake and shifter if the prices make me warm and tingly inside.
I work only about 1/4mi. from Curry's in Sterling. They've done some work for me on some of my other cars and they're really great guys there, even though they dont have a dynojet.
