Anyone else experienced 'squeaky brakes' at medium pedal pressure on their new C6? Dealer fix was application of anti squeak paste. Of course that didn't work. You wouldn't think that a C6 with 10k miles would need that. What do they put on at Bowling Green?
I took vehicle to dealer again. This time they 'turned the rotors'. I didn't think that would work either ....and it didn't. The driver side rear rotor had 'bite like' marks and something that looked like a small crack at the edge of the rotor. The marks are gone but the squeek has returned and remains continous at almost every braking event. The dealer 'assured ' me that this is all within Chevrolets expectations for the brakes and provided me with a document relative to that. Another trip to the dealer is in order!

If you have the Z51 option the brakes do squeal when braking lightly. They're racing pads and they are not quiet. If you object to that, there is a fix (diff pads) that is just coming out from GM. Do a search.
The pads do have some adhesive-like stuff on the back of them. I had to pry the pads off of the calipers when removing them. I don't know what it is but it's definately there to prevent noise. If your car has Z51, then yes it happens to a lot of people. There's a bunch of threads on this and it is in the C6 FAQ as well. Personally, I've only heard it a couple times and it was barely noticeable. Don't worry about it unless it annoys you. If so, you can switch to ceramic pads to avoid it.
