Default How do I remove the...?

...plastic trim running horizontal at the top of the windshield? This is a coupe. I want to pull the plastic piece that the sun visors connect to in order to run some wires.

How do I remove the 'base' (where it pivots) from the visor? What else will I need to do to pull it off? Any advice is appreciated.

I had to take this off when installing my V1. You need a flat head screwdriver that fits in the slot on the base. Turn the visor towards the windshield, insert the screwdriver, then turn the visor outwards. The screwdriver will contact the arm of the visor, and unscrew the base. Make sure you have a screwdriver just wide enough to fit the slot, and keep upward pressure when you turn the arm. Be careful, because when you get it out, there will be a wire that is attached to the visor assembly for the mirror lights. Also, you will need to loosen the upper tabs on the b-pillars by gripping the sides and use a side to side motion. Also, remember to unscrew the visor clips. I think you need a torx wrench for those screws.

Thanks for the quick reply. So there are no screws for the b-pillars? Just rock them out of the clips? Thanks again.

BTW, I'm installing three billet toggle switches with led lights at the tips. I plan to drill the horizontal piece so they are centered above the mirror.
