Default Z51 Replacement Rotors?

Does anyone make replacement non drilled z51 rotors? I want to upgrade my c5 but not to drilled ones.(2 left sides at that) They will crack under my use. Thanks.

Just a comment, the "drilled rotors" on the C6 are NOT drilled....they are CAST IN during manufacture which results in a totally different grain structure and far less stress.

BTW the new ZO6, Ford GT and Ford Shelby Cobra all use the same PN rotor right and left sides....

If you still don't want to use them I understand, and that's what makes the world go 'round.....

Enjoy, Pat

Sorry Pat GM rotors are drilled. Only Porsche and MB, and some of the big Brembo customers( Ferrari) can affortd to have holes cast into the rotor.

It does not matter either, drilled or cast, Camferd holes or not, rotors with holes in will crack sooner then latter.

For street driving you will never notice the difference, for road racing or track day DEs, it is only a matter of HOURS before the cracks start.

Unfortunittly the market is not large enough for them to be produced.

Several ppl have going to the smaller C5 rotor and put on the smaller caliper mounting braket. untill an aftermarket and affordable replacement rotors is produced.

I havn't found any cheap Z51 rotors for racing or street use... but I have it on good authority that Stop Force (www.stopforce.com) is applying for a patent on a Porsche rotor in Z51 specs.... should be released soon from what I was told.

Soon every C5 and C6 (and any other vehicle with C5 adapted brakes... like high hp Trans Am's and Z28's ) will be able to swap in rotors/brackets for an easy upgrade to directional SETS of larger rotors.

Hopefully someone will start making some cheap directional blanks as well... not everyone can afford $600 rotors!

Sounds good steve. at least the stopforce rotors use porsche parts with aluminum hats.(they shouldn't crack) Sounds like they would be good for the z51. They would make good street rotors for me, but I dont have that kind of money to be destroying them on track days. Cheap blanks would be nice too.
