Will aftermarket wheels with the same offset work on a C6 even if they are an inch wider, front and rear?
kickback
Most of the vendors that are selling the "Z06" types are 1 inch wider front and rear... These work fine with the exception of no runflats... That leaves you at the mercy of a tow truck/flatbed hauler if you get a flat.
The reason is, although the stock tire sizes work, they don't either look right or cause more ware on the tires due to the larger rims... The vendors posted this info, I did not buy a set for that reason and went with the C6R motorsport rims instead...
Also, the 2nd consideration is the tire sensor, if the rim is not made to have it installed in the standard location (the valve stem) you must get metal bands to go around the inside of the rim to hold the sensors...
You are now informed about larger rims, good luck in your search!
I have to respectfully disagree with that. According to the tire rack specs page, the 245/40-18 has an acceptable rim width range of 8-9.5" and the 285/35-19 have a range of 9.5-11". The upper range of both is 1" larger than stock and the tire. This also is the same info on goodyears website for rim widths. They might look a little off, but shouldn't cause any undue wear.
Now, with the same offset, and wider rims, the outer edge will, of course, stick out 1" further. Holding a straightedge up to the car, it appears like your wheels would stick out 1/2 to 3/4" past the fenderwells.

Thanks, but if you would re-read what I posted, the VENDORS are stating that there could be an issue because the tire is streched out and that could cause more heat buildup... I did not come up with this, there are several threads on this exact topic... There was enough negative comments to cause me to not go to the Z06 style (I have since found a manf. who does do the 19x10 Z06 style) but to a different style (C6R Motorsport type).
Again, this is just info, I am not saying what will work or not, just pointing out information that is already on the forum...
