turning off all dash lights

I liked how my 2000 vette allowed me to turn off all the lights inside and just use the Heads Up Display. How can i make this possible? If i have to wire up a switch for the dash then so be it. Anyone else interested?

thats exactly it. they wont dim enough. I would also like to be able to just black out the interior while driving at night
