It seems as though a lot of people are getting wheel alignment shortly after taking delivery of their c6. What is a good test to tell if alignment is needed. I've always been told that it's normal for the car to drift slightly to the right (to oppose oncoming cars during sleeping) Is this true? How much dhould it drift?
Any drifting had better be due to the crown in the road. On a flat road it should stay straight unless you torque the motor or turn the wheel, awake or asleep shouldn't matter.
The drifting to the right is an old wives tale. For a high performance car like the Corvette, it is silly to not have the car aligned as best as possible for touring/cornering. If it were true, why are there not any specs showing a total toe that is biased towards one side? You spent upwards of $48K on a car, $90 is only 2 tanks of gas nowadays - get it done. You will wonder why you second guessed getting it done.

Southwest Alignment on Richmond Ave in SW Houston. They recently changed locations so I don't have a good address. They used to be on Beverly Hills behind Pro Am. $90 for a Vette. Had my C4 and C6 done there.
I had mine aligned because I noticed feathering on the edges of the front tires. I had 5 settings either completely out of range or very close to being out. Besides it isn't uncommon for an alignment be required after the car has a few thousand miles on it and has settled slightly. This is why GM will give you a freebie before your first 7500 miles are up.

Lil Red Corvette...........My local Chevy dealer will not do a "freebie" alignment for me unless they detect an alignment problem .
I was told by a service manager that if you complain about your front alignment during the first year on a GM vehicle that they will align it for free. First year only.
