When I meant higher pitch I meant more like the Ferrari like sound and not like the typical muscle car rumble. The reason is because Corsa Sport is tuned to sound more like the European type of growl rather than the muscle car. To make it more clearer, just think of it as Corsa Sport with an amplifier. I dont know how GHL or Borla sounds like on a Vette since this is my first.

So, it sounds like doing this simply amplifies the sound you've got. I'm looking for more of a deeper rumble. I'm hoping if I get the B&B Route 66s, throw on the high flow cats, it'll do the trick. Too bad these mods are so few and far between, there is no way to hear every possible combination!

cmb, it appears that the RT's just enhance the sound of the exhaust, so................we may have found the "perfect" sounding exhaust!.

I like to dream.

[QUOTE=Zig] these were my first choice but every place I checked had a 2 week waiting period. the true bolt up would have been nice.

I ended up waiting around 5 hours while they built the pipes, etc. to put on the ones (MetalCat) I bought.

How do you like the RTs, any noticeable power difference ? Do you by any chance have any dyno numbers of before and after ?

Wow 5 hours to do the cats.. not bad for custom job..
So did you save the factory cats?
The power difference is IMO is about 8-10 HP. but I never dynoed my car so i cant really prove it. But the best part of these cats is the sound man...With the corsa sport combo.. it screams....

they had to keep the cats for epa reason's, at least that's what they said.

I agree, hi-flow cats enhance the existing sound already present. I've got the B&B Bullets with x-pipe. I got to hear my car from the outside for the first time yesterday. we were looking at noise reduction possibilities, the custom exhaust shop owner started her up and drove her into the shop. WOW, is all I can say, I sure does sound like a 400+ hp muscle car. All I could do is stand there and marvel at it. It sounds like a big block muscle import destroyer car. Not obnoxiously loud just pure muscle. I'm gonna have to try to get a sound recording and let you hear it. IMO it's just plain awesome/perfect. Now I just gotta figure out how to quiet the interior.

Here's a thought....what about changing the cats to RT's and leaving the stock exhaust? I wonder if that would add some volume / muscle to the stock system. I bring it up b/c I personally like the tone of the stock system under the gun; I just think it needs to be opened up a little.

Of course, then you'd need some new tips. Would come in at under a grand, all said and done, for a few ponies, better sound and better look!

What do you think?

My 66's are sitting in my garage, so I don't have that option. You could just try the RT's on the stock system and see how it sounds. If it's still too quiet, go for the 66's. The tips on the 66's are the best looking ones out there.
