...good brake fluid. I'm looking for good dot 4 fluid but can't find any. I went to 3 local auto stores and all they have is dot 3 and some prestone stuff that says it meets dot 4 standads. Whatever that means. I did not have a good feeling about that stuff so I thought I'd ask here. I was thinking about going to the motorcycle shop I usually go to and look there.

Also, since the origional fluid will still look good, how will I know when it has beed flushed out? How much fluid should I expect to go through?

Just get some ATE super blue or Castrol SRF...Both are readily available to order on the internet.

Go to your local Ford parts counter and ask for Ford HD brake fluid. I know it sounds like sacrilege, but the Ford HD fluid is an excellent racing brake fluid, and the price is reasonable.
