That's strange. I emailed PBR last week and this is the response I got:

I have been forwarded your email by PBR in Australia for follow
thru. At this time PBR has no plan to release this caliper into the
aftermarket. If something changes I will let you know.

Sounds like it won't be too long before Fred Bean gets them in. I'd be interested in knowing if you could fit the rear '06 Z06 caliper under the stock '01-04 Z06 wheel. That could make for a really cheap upgrade to a 4 piston non-floating caliper.

DAMN!!!

Those are the shizzizle...

Add another $1.6K to my wish list. I don't believe they'll ever find a cure for MOD FEVER!!!

Wonder if they'll fit under my Ace "Slick" 18X9.5/19x11 wheels?

Hi All,
Be rest assured that we will get plenty of these kits in and we will take good care of each and every one of you. I ask that you be patient and I promise that the minute I start getting some in I will let you all know.

Thanks,
Gene

Just a silly clarification....

$1700 would be for all 4 calipers, rotors & brackets?

You know what they say - there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. I think you are asking because 1700 sounds like a great price. Of course, if the information about the wheels is correct, that adds a little - but not the brakes fault

Hi there,
Actually, that is incorrect. It is for 4 calipers, pads!!, rotors and there are no brackets needed. Believe it or not the pads are like 400 bucks for front and rear!

Great... $100 per wheel for pads. Anyone know if these are notorious DUSTERS?

(I supposed I should really ask this in the Z06 forum)...

These are all new pads - not common to anything. There are six pads on EACH front brake. Not sure about the rear, but I think four for each.

Make sure to zinc, $50, or cadmium plate, $100. You don't want to get the Z51 rust problems.

Hey everyone,

I sent an email to Satisfied Brakes asking about replacement brake pads for the new Z06.

I just received a reply from one of their Product Managers and here is what he had to say:

Jack,

Pads are not available at this time, they are in tooling process and should become available by end of year.

Regards,
Edgar Barriere
Product Manager
At least they are creating aftermarket pads for the Z06 and one could assume that other companies are as well

Tommy, this is good advice. But just as a clarification - ALL Corvette factory rotors rust, and have for many years.

J, I agree, GM has never used coated rotors. I think the Z51's tend to get more rust, and fling more rust, because of the cross drilling.

I just looked in my yellow pages under "plating." I started calling and found one that would do cadmium plating for $100 minimum, meaning he probably could plate many sets at once for that price.
