We've been buggin the hell out of Gene (Beans). He's probably got a dozen on backlog by now. I really hadn't planned on (make that: can't afford) any more mods for awhile.

But I'll throw this one on a CC and worry about it later. It's probably the only thing I'm really jonesing for right this minute...

Is there a difference between the C6 and Z06 master cylinder bores?

Some notes from a google search:

1. Master cylinders with bigger bores give less pedal travel, yet a firmer feeling pedal, while a smaller diameter bore will yield more pedal travel and give a softer feeling pedal.

2. To get more force/pressure at the calipers, increase the caliper bore diameter (without changing the master cylinder, or any other components). More piston area (at the wheels) equals more pressure.

That's one thing I've been wondering about...

Will the Z51 master cylinder have the capacity to run these calipers without any issues? Obviously going to SS lines is going to help also.

I'm still hot for them anyway...

Lots of wheel upgrading is going to go on.

Doubt any of the standard C6 rims are going to clear them.

Default z06 brakes, c6 rims

I inquired at knowledgeable Chevy dealer represented on this site. I was told the Z06 brakes aren't available yet. As I expected. No biggie.

I was also told that they DO fit inside the stock C6 wheels. That's at variance with what

Who really KNOWS FOR A FACT that they do, or do not fit stock C6 wheels?

Is that with a 2" spacer and only one thread of the lugnut being able to grab after the wheel is on?

Sorry, just joking around. I have no idea, and would like to find out also.

The WILWOOD six pistons require a very small spacer front/back to work on the stock C6 rims.

Got to watch how big of a spacer you run, as you want your lugnuts to be able to grab all all the threads.

Hi All,
Ha-ha.. a dozen requests by now. If you guys only knew what kind of mail I've received on this!! We're about to do something big with these... I'll be selling them on the website soon. Final tally on the selling price appears to be around 1795 + shipping.

Look out, we're pre-selling them on the website very soon!

Default Caliper Piston

Along those lines, does anyone know the caliper piston sizes for the regular calipers and the Z06 calipers?

Thanks,
Richard P.

Hi there,
I said intially that it was preliminary because everyone wanted to know what our sale price might be. I initially said 1695 and have moved it to 1795 for several reasons.

If anyone knew at all, the extent I am having to go through to get an anonymous amount of kits they would ask no questions.

The going price is 2795 of the kit, so I feel the discount given for the amount of work involved is extremely reasonable!

Default Plated / zinc washed rotors

I have big drilled/grooved/plated Baer Track rotors on my present car but had a problem with wheel cleaner staining the shiney rotor hats. They looked like they had corrosion spots.
I pulled all the wheels and painted the hats and exposed part of the rotor (the 1/4 inch strip that gets rusty because the pads don't rub there) with black 1200 degree header paint after a light sanding with 400 grit. Although I didn't use any rust inhibiting primer, it looks great, has lasted for 4 years and makes the wheels stand out against the black background. A cheap, effective fix.

I tried a set of stock wheel and C6 Z06 Replicas. They will not fit without spacers. By my rough measurements the spacer would need to be at least 1/2inch

Thanks to John Page at 21st Century Musclecar for letting me measure against his Z06

Please confirm, C6 Z06 wheels also require a spacer when used on a Z51 or base C6?
