Clutch spring removed...what a difference

Love the forum engineers, the spring nether aids you in pushing down or returning the pedal up, the spring actually gives you the "feel" of the clutch. put a C5 spring in and you will like it even better, but you all knew that didn't you?

What are you talking about? The spring both holds the clutch pedal down and holds it up.

It's a double action spring. It helps push the pedal to the floor once it's past its over center point, to make the clutch easier to depress for those wearing high heels. And above its over center point, it holds the pedal at the top of it's travel to keep the upper clutch switch depressed and to open the fluid transfer port in the master cylinder.

If you unhook the master cylinder from the clutch pedal you'll see how it works.
