Default Clutch stuck to floor....

I took the C6 to the track tonight and had the clutch stick to the floor three times. The car runs great on the street and made 411RWHP, but at the track when I tried to shift near redline the clutch pedal would get stuck to the floor. Any ideas? It is a stock clutch and the car only has 400 miles.

Thanks,

Rick

there is a tsb about early cars. the tsb basically says cars that used clutch parts with a date code dec. or earlier.

i also have had the clutch stick to the floor. lately, i have found that i can shift after and or around 6k as long as i don't press the pedal all the way. if i only depress it just enough to engage the clutch, for the shift it seems to work.

Before you do anything, check out my simple clutch arm mod that reduces clutch throw and engages the clutch earlier off the floorboard. It also seems to help or eliminate your problem. With your engine mods you probably won't get a free GM fix.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/phot...00&ppuser=6747

Check out that little metal gizmo that I attached backwards to the clutch arm nubbin that engages the switch on the floorboard/firewall.

Right now, for some reason the pictures are not coming up. But they will later.

Did the GM paid for all the labor & parts?
What is the build date of your C6? or the last 8 of VIN#?
I had some bolt on mods (intake, LT headers, x-pipe, hi-flow cats, bullets) on my car and I'm afraid the GM might void the warranty on the clutch.

Regardless of mods, a TSB/ recall has to be fixed by the dealer. It is GM acknowledging a defective part(s) from the factory. I have a Halltech, longtube headers, exhaust, cam, and nitrous, and my car is going in friday for the clutch TSB, and crank bolt/pully/seal recall... no questions asked...

Problem with the clutch TSB is - you don't know if you fall into the date range for the clutch pack, until they get into it.

I hadn't discussed with the dealer exactly what happens if your clutch pack is NOT in the datecode range? Who pays then?

If you politely insist, GM should have no problem paying for the repairs... last thing they want is trouble down the road when you wipe out due to a 'known defect' in the vehicle...

My car was a fairly late build (June 2005) and I already had my clutch replaced under warranty. They told me it was supposed to have been fixed by now but they replaced mine with the upgraded clutch that it was supposed to have. Works great now!

Shocker, what were the symptoms/problem the clutch was displaying? Curious.
