Default Car WONT START!!! Please HELP!!!!

okay, Long Story,

I Hit a 18 Wheeler Tire on The George Washington Bridge about 2 Weeks ago In NYC, So i Droped off the car in Jersey at The Place that the Biggest Corvette Dealer in Jersey said to take it (VMC Autobody), So i Went back to Jersey(I Live in Vermont) on Saturday & Picked the car up, He Had to Jump Start the car because the battery was dead (I Think he didnt put in Reverse) Anyways the car looked good & Ran Fine TILL I Went into the City the next day, I Was Double Parked with the radio on for about 20 Minutes & When i tryed to start i heard A "Click" It Felt like a dead battery,

I Tryed a Few Times & CLICK,CLICK CLICK! So i Let her sit for like 3 minutes & When i tryed again i felt a little hesatation but she turned over & ran good allday for the drive back to VT (6 Hours) i parked it & I Didnt drive her for 2 Days & When i tryed yesterday to drive it all the lights we're very dim & The same thing "CLICK!" i thought it was the battery again! but i tryed the next morning to jump her with a Boost Pack & The POWER Came back to her but still CLICK! i thought my Boost Pack was to Weak, so i used my Truck to Jump Her with & The Volt On the DIC Says 13.9 when it's hooked up to the truck But she just sits there & CLICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

i myself think that the battery is shot! But with a jump start it should Start up again right? so it might be something else?

So i called my Local Dealer & They can't even look at it till Nov 14 ! because of Recalls on trucks

There the biggest Chevrolet Dealer in about a 100 miles & There still pretty Small! all the rest of them just sell pick up trucks!

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Anyone Esle have this problem?

If you can't get the dealer to look at it.... I guess if it were me I would first make sure all connections were good. Starting at the battery.
After that I would want to know what the battery drop is at the battery when someone is starting the engine. Another quick diagnosis is to see how much the lights dim when starting.
If lights dim quite a bit or you get a large drop across the battery then I would go for replacing the battery.
That is just a start.
I would also think for that kind of diagnosis that they could squeeze you in at the dealer and be able to tell if the battery was bad.
Well... that's what I would think.
Good luck

It could be that the battery has gone high resistance, and your jumper cables aren't heavy enough to keep bus voltage above 10.5 volts while attempting to crank. That'll cause the computer to fail to complete the start sequence.

But since the car was just in the body shop, I'd be more inclined to think you have a loose connection somewhere in the primary electrical system. Could be a loose battery terminal, could be a loose connection at the starter solenoid, could be a bad ground connection. Check that all the heavy wires are securely fastened at each end in the area where the repair work was done.

If you purchased the GMPP extended warranty you can go to any GM dealership. Caddy might be a good choice. Just a thought.

When the original ACDelco AGM battery on my '03 died a few months ago, it was so far gone, you couldn't even jump it. Swapped it out for an Optima RedTop, and it cranked right up. Sometimes doing a complete batter swap will fix it.

Get a new battery. The body shop ruined it by letting it sit dead for too long. There not the best battery's to start with.

Just got my C6 back from chevy for the same problem.....did you get a code reading when you tried to start it???.the code is the clue to the problem.my code read( NO FOBS detected).it was the sensor that accepted the key signal..in your case doesn't sound like that though.......my suggestion is .replace the battery check all the ground and terminal connections.and start fresh..good luck

Banks Chevrolet in Concord, NH and Littleton Chevrolet in Littleton, NH both have excellent service departments and good Corvette techs on staff. They're 2-3 hours away, but it may be worth it to get the service your local dealer doesn't seem able to provide.

Damn, isn't there anyone in Burlington? Going to a 'big' dealer isn't always the best idea. I used to live in Burlington and even with an E-Type Jag I was able to make a relationship at a dealer that worked. But yeah, chuck that battery.

Battery terminal is loose. It happens all the time in body shops. They disconnect then forget to tighten the terminals.

Small jumper cables won't crank a car if the battery is all the way dead unless there made of #2 or larger welding cable because there is too much voltage drop in the cables. What you should do is get a 6 amp charger and charge your battery for 12-24 hours to get it fully charged. When I have DBS and have to charge mine it takes a good 16 hours to reach full charge. I always disconnect mine before charging just as a precaution.
