my rev limit is raised to 7000-was coming on at 5800 in1st and 2nd gear.after much thought I found [by loging events on the lap top] that the rpm rate of climb with the 4:10 gears I am running was so rapid that the engine was hitting the rev limiter at 7000 while the tach had only climbed to 5800. in other words the tach was lagging the actual events leading me to beleive that the rev limiter was coming on too soon. in 3rd and 4th where the rpms dont climb as fast the tach keeps pace with actual events and shows the rev limiter coming on at 7000. I think I need a shift light.

C5 tach was notorious for lagging actual engine speed - especially in first gear. C6 tach, probably not any / much different. I suspect it's a slow tach.

No issue here...shift light, tach, and data-log agree on the 6800 limit I have in there.
