No. The only things I can think of and verify in the Service Manual would be a re-learn of the body module when you've changed the ECM. Have to use the Tech 2 tool and verify the aprx. 6700 cut off. Have you re-programed or changed ECM's?
Maybe T/C or A/H? Is it just happening under power and turning?
Probably Dealer time, sounds like a crank trigger or ECM problem.
My rev limiter has never kicked in that early, but it certainly comes on before 6700 too. My first time I went all out down the 1/4, I hit the rev limiter and I know I wasn't anywhere near red line. It seemed to hit at 6300 rpm. I make sure to shift before 6300 now.
I have the same at 5700 to 5800 rpm. My limit is set to 7000 also, but I think the AH is causing the feeling of hitting the limiter at the lower range. It sucks when it happens at the track!

At the track, I turn my AH and TRAC completely off... no interruptions.
OK thanks. Has that juddery feel to it, like redline fuel cutoff to me, rather than the power loss feel you get with TC/AH, but maybe it's the TM. I seemed to have grip though. Also, I did not get any Trac System Active messages. It really feels exactly the same as the rev limiter in my C5s.
Also, I had Comp Mode on at the time.
No, I have not modded the car electronics in any way.

Comp mode still uses A/H. Try with both A/H and T/C off.
OK thanks. I'll try that & see what happens. I will also try approaching 6K very gradually under light load. If it still cuts out, then it's a problem with the limiter.
The car might react different with light load/partial throttle, part of the computers action could be determined by load and/or throttle position. I don't think anybody has figured out what the parameters need to be for torque management to raise it's ugly head.
Tom and TT, my C6 does not do it under light load. At the track(and street) it does it all the time in normal mode. 75% of the time in comp mode, and 50% of the time with AH and TC off. I'm going to the track on Nov 11th and I wish I could fix it before then.

Is it possible that the engine is reving faster then the gauge is keeping up?
When I took my first C6 to the dragstrip, on my first run I had it in "Competitive" mode. The "rev-limiter" kicked in at about 6200-6300 (surprised the crap out of me - I'm very good at shifting right at redline). The rest of the runs I turned AH/TC completely off and it never did it again.
The time that my car hit the rev limiter at 6200-6300 rpm I had both TC and AH on. I haven't hit it again with TC off / AH on, but then I have been shifting earlier too.
same problem here... My problem is the tach. When the car is on the dyno it pulls to the correct rpm on the dyno tach... So maybe yours is a faulty tach as well...
Jeremy
BTW, the problem is not continuous. Other times, I have no problem getting to 6500 and seeing the shift light go off. So I do not think the tach is delayed in my case. I'll report back after my test (didn't have time last night).
