I dont have alot of mods done to my car and i still wanna do a few more but i wanted to ask should i have my ecu chip sent off and re-programed when im done with all my mods... would it have a great increase in horse power? if so how mauch would u think i would gain?
There hasn't been chips in these cars for years. What you do is have your computer reprogramed With a Tech 2 scanner. Or you must remove the ECU and mail it to a programmer who can bench tune your unit. Then send it back to you. I would tune the car after the mods are done. Fuel tables, timming, Cags, fan settings (160 stat) and TM. There is no set HP gains, it's all just a guess, and it depends on who is tunning, what software there using, and to what extent you have modded the car. Good luck
well i know i have to send it off to get it re-programed but i dont know where i could send it off to. i mean i have a 98 vette and i have the hiper tect programer and i really wasnt that impress by it. but if you know of a place i will be able to send it off to let me know and thanks for the input!

imo bench tuning isn't worth it. I would rather do a dyno tune after you're done with your mods. Yes, a bench tune will show some gains but there's nothing like a 'custom' dyno tune.
yes, find a local tuner and dyno tune, OR learn and do it yourself. I just bought LS2 edit, and look forward to tuning my car. Appearantly I'm one of only 2 private tuners so far (non commercial)
I'm not familiar with where Baytown, Texas is, but there a few supporting vendors in Texas that can tune the LS1 and LS2 PCMs and they have dyno's. Houston and Dallas both have tuners well known. There is also a shop up in the PanHandle area and I believe they can tune or know somebody that can.
baytown is going east towards beamount.... thats where the houston raceway park is.... i like that track been there a many of times....well i usually get stuff done at MTI in houston but i kinda dont wanna go back because they are kinda dont wanna talk to you unless you dont spend over 5k there. but im going to check out that web site.... thanks buck

I guess that makes me the only other one (non commercial).
MTI is the only shop that I know of in Houston that is currently tuning 05 C6's.
There is another way to get a tuner across the country to tune the car via email. It requires you to own a copy of LS2 Edit and data logging software that the tuner can also read. This method would cost you roughly $900 in software plus the charges for the tune. Expensive, yes but you do receive a true custom tune without driving your car across the country.
yea thats what my friend did to his supra. he has the program on his computer... but honestly ill prolly just send it off... im only going to do a little more bolt ons and then im i want them to tune it.
