Default Z06 Heads

How do the new Z06 (c6) heads compare to the latest LS6 based heads?

I have been pondering a 402 special. Since the LS2 intake isn't that fantastic, I was thinking of Z06 heads and Intake.

But then A&A posts 490+ rwhp with just a heads and cam.

If I could make 550rwhp NA with a 402 and some heads, then put another 150-175 of N20.. I think I would be where I want to be.


My C5 was a A&A FMIC @ 523 rwhp.

Dawg,...if you have an LS2, you already have LS6 heads. Same thing.

Do the 402 stroker,...with the right heads,...and the right CAM,...and 550 rear wheel shouldn't be hard to come by. Use the FAST intake.

LS2 and LS6 heads are the same with the exception of the valves, The LS6 heads have sodium filled exhaust valves and hollow intake valves. Their performance is basically the same so I do not know where you heard LS2 heads were not that great? The 2006 Z06 (LS7) heads will not work for the 402 because the bore is not big enough to accomodate the 2.20" valves. The LS7 heads appear to be outstanding so they would be a good choice if you decided to go with a big bore motor (4.125" Bore). You would also have to switch to the LS7 intake since the intake port shape and location are different.
