Default BB Headers

I have the Billy Boat X pipe now and a set of Corsa Sports on my C6 auto coupe. Serioulsy consideirng getting their new headers, a bolt in replacement for the stock headers. Anyone else have a setup like this and does anyone know what I should be expecting from a power or sound perspective? Any down side to this mod?
Thanks

I don't think they are making the shorties yet so they wouldn't be a direct replacement. The 25+ hp has to be from the long tubes. Could be wrong but this would be the first I heard of them having shorties for the C6 available.

I called BB, told them I had their X pipe and they gave me a part number for their new headers. I asked them what to expect, they said about 22hp

They must have long tubes that connect direct to the x-pipe but that would only be the case in the event that they plan on eliminating your converters. Even B&B would not stake a claim for 22HP on shorties.

Thinking about what you said about the "shorties", I was under the impression these were C6 Corvette Long Headers as listed on their site with this comment, "this is a true bolt-on header, complete with hardware and gaskets, dedicated to the C5 and now for the C6 Corvette as well. The new, 1¾” tube flows seamlessly to a 3”, 4-into-1 collector"

From what I have read here, the long tube headers will probably be better for a daily driver. Not sure now what these Billy Boat headers are or if this is really what I'm looking for.

Which would make them illegal on the street? I'm in Arkansas, no testing, but that still gives me cause for pause.

Your call but if you take off the cats you deal with federal law issues not to mention that you will need to buy 02 sensor simulators or face a slew of computer issues.

you won't get much power from short tubes, IF they are indeed short

I guess I need to call BB again, I asked them if I needed something like this and they said no. I want to keep the car street legal. Plus, I'm planning on trading it for the A6 next year. I don't want a new owner to run into any unpleasant surprises.

Looking at their page again, they don't call them shorties or long tubes, they call them "long headers".

They are long tubes. Shortys would just run to the stock cats. Those dont offer much room for improvement and as far as I have seen only Callaway is making them at this time. Federal law makes any long tube illegal on our cars, cats or not. Realistically in most states you can get away with running LTs with cats and will have no problems since they sniff fine. Just takes longer for em to light off when moved back versus the stock location.

I just gott off the phone with BB, they will not be street legal, so I've decided not to go with them. I'm planning on trading the Vette for another one next summer, so I think I'll just sit tight and leave it alone. But, the long tube headers were tempting.
