I'd ask the dealer what the aftermarket wheels have to do with it. This is yet another example of GM's stupidity. For the entire run of the C5 we could reset them ourselves. Then GM figures it's a good excuse to make us go see our "friendly" dealers. Things like this make me think that GM deserves all the problems they are going through.

I heard if they go on the same wheel location they don't have to be reprogrammed. Not sure if that is true. I had a rear tire replaced yesterday and they took the valve stem out and put it back in after the tire was off and everything is fine.
reseting tire sensors is no big deal. all you need is a good strong magnet. you have to get into the DIC section where it reprograms the sensors, one at a time, and put the magnet on top of the valve stem (which is where the tire sensors are, inside the wheel). I don't recall the exact sequence of how to get to the 'reprogramming tire sensors'
part of the DIC display, but if you do a search in the wheels section here, I'm sure you'll find it.
also, I found that a donut shaped magnet with a hole in the center works best, but any good magnet will do. stronger is better.
once you get the sequence down, it takes less than five minutes of your time.

Not on the C6. The system doesn't let you do it without their J-tool.

There is no reprogramming needed if the sensor is in the same wheel location.
I have swapped wheels with different sensors 3 times using the bartec tool. It is really easy to register the sensors. The only trick is remembering to place the tool against the tire beneath the valve stem; placing it near the valve cap or stem doesn't work.
When I put wheels on my car over a year ago noone told me that the wheels had to be in the same location. There was very little known about the C-6 at the time. Now that I have the sensors in all different places...the tire pressures do not correspond on the DIC!

Sorry for the rant. (okay, I'm not sorry
So the dealer should be responsible to reset your sensors after you instaled some aftermarket rims?Do you think that the techs at the dealer work for free? All you had to do was put the senosrs back in the same location and you would not have a problem.
When I got my car, nobody knew that a speaker magnet wouldn't do the trick!! Thus the dilema! We didn't pay atention as to what wheel came off what corner.....
I have a shopping list of things that need to be done on my car anyways.
What I am asking for is someone to charge a reasonable price. 20-30 dollars okay.....100 dollars for 10 minutes of work, not okay!
try talking to your new car salesman that you bought the car from. go in there and ask if he'd like to see your new wheels/tires you just put on. oh, and don't forget to mention that 'friend' of yours that's thinking about buying a new vette, since he likes yours so much. then before you leave, ask him what the deal is with your tire sensors since you've put the new wheels on your car?????
he might be able to help you out
That's a good idea! Except for one thing....I bought my car from Les Stanford in MI and I live in TX!! I am a firm believer in developing a relationship with a dealer...
