Default Hawk HP Plus pads installed

today on my Z51.(I had ceramics on previously). Wow... what a difference!! The difference is like day and night. I was just simply amazed by the way brake grips hard with no FADES!!!. I was always skeptical about the big claims made by others who've upgrade the pads. Now I'm a believer... pads CAN make a huge difference. However there is a trade off though... the noise!!! It makes a LOUD one too. I now have to live with brake noise once I had before. Do I regret the change? NO!!! I love the way my car stops now and I'm more confident when the car is driven hard. Maybe I will try the C5 Z06 pads next time around as other forum member recommended.

if you do track events, they WILL fade, the rotors will crack, and the caliper pistons will melt.

However, they should do well on the street

Did three DE's at Summit Point with the Hawk HP plus pads/stock rotors and super blue brake fluid. No fade slowing from 140 to 50 for turn one. And the hotter they got the better they were. Couldn't take the noise though on the street. Everytime I hit the brakes they sounded like I was dragging a cat behind me on a leash! Went back to stock pads for the street.

Back before I could afford a Corvette (fearing for my safety I won't say what I had), I would run Hawk HP-Plus at the HPDEs. I would pretty much chew up set of rotors in a weekend. Then I switched to Carbotech Panther-Plus and a set of rotors would last all summer. Since they aren't paying me to advertise, I'll shut up now....
