Does the Halltech air intake have any issues with water being sucked into the system. Seems like I read that one brand had some significant problems on rainy days or going through puddles. Thanks for your help.
The air intakes that you are referring to are the bottom feeders. (LPE and the Honker) These products are installed by removing the shroud. Going through a puddle of water with a bottom feeder could be a problem with taking in too much water.
As the poster above stated the Halltech sits up high and makes it very difficult to injest water. Also installation is very quick and easy because the shroud stays in place.
I also loved the service from Halltech. I called Jim on Thursday, told him I needed an overnight delivery. It was on my doorstep friday morning. I installed it in 25 minutes. I took it for a nice drive so my computer could relearn for the added air. The car became much more responsive.
Great product, great service. Can't ask for any more than that.
Halltech Stinger is as easy to install as all the others say.
There is no obvious increase in noise.
I bought mine for 120 mph plus performance on the Texas Motor Speedway oval. I haven't got to try it there yet but im hoping for 3-5 more mph in the passing zones.

Jeff Gordon's not going to like you going faster than him at TMS.

Do not use with flex straws from Whataburger. Oh wait, You don't have them in CA
Absolutely not. I have one and I have shot water under the car, into the grill, etc. Also, I drive in the rain and when I checked, the filter is bone dry. No issues.
If you use a 1/4" wide by 1/4" tall strip, stick it to the rubber hood seal over Halltech. (front). It will keep any water from seeping through the seal on to your filter. I did, and put a hose to the area and not a drop came through. It's peel and stick. Bought it at Home Depot $5.00.BTW I don't know how much this or any other aftermarket filter helps a bone stock motor, but a motor like mine with; headers, cam, tunning, etc, It does flow much more air,and the car is more responsive. Jim Hall makes a good product. Also I got an email from Jim saying that simple green to clean and K&N oil will work fine to reoil the unit. It's also very important to measure the distance you insert the air bridge into the filter, if you go over an inch you create a lip with the air bridge which will create air turbulence into the air bridge itself. Thus decreasing performance.

None....With the other brands it's a question of "When not If"

Want to try driving through a "puddle" that ends up being about 6 inches deep? Especially in heavy down pour when the vehicle in front of you just creat a wave effect that you dont see until you start into the "puddle" whith an SUV behind you that will smack you your a$$ if you slam the brakes on?
Thought not. Don't see any bottom feeders guaranteeing their products against water lock (read ruined engine and whatever else gets trashed along the way). L8R

I have a bottom feeder on our C5 - replaced one engine already. When we purchased the C6, the last thing i would have done is put any kind of bottom feeder on it. Have the Haltech with the CA intake, love it, don't worry about "puddles" or any other water rising to the level that the bottom feeder did on the C5 (read several thousand dollars in deductibles) L8R
