Default Wheels For Drag Radials

are there 17" rims that match the stock rims that can be used for drag radials?

I think I would use OEM fronts. Then run a 275/35 R18 DR.

Not sure 17's would clear the brakes. This weekend I'll be checking to see if my 18" C5 wheels with drag radials will fit. I'll let you know...

Why are you going with a 17"?

I know many sight using a 17" for lower gear ratio but if you check the overall dimensions of the tire the difference is not significant.

A 275/35/18 and a 275/40/17 are very nearly the same diameter. And the 275/45/17 is actually taller than the 275/35/18.

Is it because you want to run ET's instead of BFG's?

MT makes a 17" DR, they don't make an 18. The BFG's are nice, but the MTs pretty much put them to shame. Probably would look awkward on a vette though.

The benefit of the 17" is that you have more sidewall for flex and better grip. 17s will not clear rear Z51 rotors but I am pretty sure they will clear base brakes. I would use a 17x11 with 275/40 if possible and if you can get a little higher profile then use that.

That makes sense, more sidewall, more flex.

I don't have the C6 but I am thinking about getting one. I still think if I am stock or fairly near stock I would just buy an extra set of front rims and run the BFG DR's.
