when are the fronts coming out?
I'm Positive..... I found both sizes on the Michelin site also. Check it out and look for the specs/sizing chart under the PS2s. The fronts (245/40-18) were already out in the regular load and an extra load (for BMWs I think). I know they're expensive, but I've never seen as many positive owner reviews and tests on a particular tire before. Just about everyone who has them seems to love them. They actually came in less expensive than the GY Supercar EMTs which was surprising to me.

Comments?
KD - dry only, very sticky.
KDW - dry / wet, a little less sticky than KDs.
KDWS - dry / wet / snow, somewhat less sticky than KDWs.

I ran 2 sets of KDWs on my Z-28, liked them quite well. Reasonably priced, good performance, good milage (near 30K).

Better than the stock GY GS-Cs in every area except the GS-Cs felt a little more stable in deep water at speed - not somewhere I want to be anyway!

I found that they're pretty easy to live with, but I'm told that they will wear very fast if the alignment is off.

This is the third or so time i've seen the ps2 quest, and must respond; Its going on 6mos. that I have had 265/18's and 295/19 ps2's on my c6. I purchased them from the tire rack.they were not listed on there web site, but when I called, they had them in stock. at that time michelin listed them, and 305/19's plus 275's and up in 18's also.I have not looked lately, its possible production has been interupted, but I would sure do a more thourough check. now for my BS> I have played enough with"all the tires of the world"to believe this is the set up on stock wheels.(ps2's 265 front/295 rear)I pushed the recommended width a bit and there right there. the 265's have slight side bulge, approx.1/4in.over stock-295's 0 bulge over stock, the 305's would be the size,if you can accept the 25.3 or so dia.( I could not.)the 265's are also 25.3 dia. and the 295's are 26.4 dia. slightly shorter than stock(26.7) the m.p.h. is 52.5 when speedo reads 55 with the ps2's. the previous comments of warmup time/great wet performance/baaaad in the cold are accurate. I will add that they sensitive to pressure, thus road temp. my compromise has been 30Tp.s.i.cold (70 degree amb.) warm up time with avg. hwy. speed 25/30 min.then the tire pressure reads 36p.s.i. at higher amb. temps 38p.s.i. on and after 38p.s.i. they loose the much tire patch.(the down fall of low profile tires) so even if you dont like soft side walking, you cant pumpup enough to correct it. moreBS> even though you did'nt ask. the pilot sports (1st.cut)with the radial pattern work as well, with the exception of noise, especially after 40 or so % wear as do all radial pattern tread designs.goodyears radial patterns are the worst for noise, plus there as heavy as truck tires.the next best tires do not yet exist for a spirited vehicle like our corvettes.you can not get enough tire on the rear if you DRIVE.next, blow out the fenders(also adds side stability)and looks,or tub it(side bite is better than wide)and get them 345's even if the dia.sucks. ps-with the installation of dynamat max from behind the seats back and extra added over the fender well covers with the quieter tires removes the tunnel drone allmost completely.its close to as quiet as my sevelle. but,you got to like that kind a thing. thanks for listening, twp

Remember Tire Rack doesn't always list all of the available sizes. Go to the manufacturer's web site to see all sizes that they make, then give TR a call.

Goodyear's finished first in th C&D test, and the Supercars will be better yet in the dry.

Does anyone have a direct comparison of the PS2's versus the Supercars in Z51 sizes?

Are you looking for a magazine tire test or someone's experience? I have two sets of wheels with both the GY Supercars (Z51) and the Michelin PS2s in the stock sizes.

Hey guys, I'm new to these forums, and I'm considering (by considering I mean leaning very heavily towards) ordering a new '06 C6 within the next week or so. I'm somewhat torn on whether I should get the Z51 package, largely because I read through some user comments on the F1 Supercars on tirerack.com, and people seemed to be getting < 10,000 miles of tread life. That's insane! The thought of burning through $1600 worth of rubber every 10k miles is somewhat frightening.

My questions -

1) Is the Z51 package worth it? How many miles have you guys been getting out of your F1 Supercars? I guess if I'm unhappy with the tread life of the supercars, I could go to a different tire for my second set.

2) Alot of you guys are talking about going over to non-EMT tires. I hadn't even thought of doing that. What are you guys planning to do in the event of a flat, just call AAA? Or are you carrying around tire repair kits or something? I would be using said C6 as my daily driver, so having it leave me on the side of the road with no spare in the event of a flat could be a big pain, but I'll admit going non-EMT may be worth it if it truly does open up better tire options.

Thanks for any input guys.

I have 13K on my supercar tires and have plenty tread left. I bought a lifetime alignment ($150.00) and had it done as soon as I bought the car. I believe a lot of the poor wear people are getting is due to a poor alignment.

F1 Supercar = SNAP oversteer. Thats the big problem their having with the 06' Z and to a lesser extent, the Z-51 equipped C6. I almost KILLED myself driving a 06' Z-51 with snap oversteer. Active handling didn't kick in for about 2-3 seconds. Same bend, only faster with my 05' non-Z51 and you have a gradual breakaway of the rear end before AH gets you under control.

I don't think the Z51 is worth it because the car becomes a very nervous animal at speed. It hunts all over the road with CONSTANT steering corrections needed. I had a chance to drive both back-to-back and the Z51 was hunting all over the road and has BIG TIME snap oversteer that could get a novice in BIG trouble, especially when the active handling doesn't kick in for a few seconds. ( this is a problem they are having with the new Z06...read the reviews) My C6 non Z, though it has less steering response goes STRAIGHT down the road with a MUCH better ride. My girlfriend, who has owned 8 Vettes couldn't believe the difference. I would go with the base suspension and upgrade the shocks and sway bars. Then you get the best of both worlds.

That's exactly what I did and feel it is a much better way to go than Z51 regardless of the fact you have reduced cost. Even more so if you have an auto and don't benefit from the Z51 M6 gearing changes.

So like 840 for the set and they hook great, ride great, handle great - much better than the F1 Supercar's IMO...

What do you do if and when you get a flat, do you carry a spare?
