Default Time to MOD!!!

been drivin my Z51 C6 6-speed for a while now with pretty much a bonestock setup besides B&B Street Catback system. still has the stock air filters.

well im lookin to do some upgrades performance wise.
i really wanna go all motor because i love the lope of a big cam but some of the forced induction has caught my eye. so i wanted to see what everyone thought about my ideas.

1) cam,full exhaust,tune,etc...
2)heads and cam,full exhaust,tune,etc...
3)forced induction(magnacharger,ProCharger,etc... )

give me some ideas about what to do. im lookin to get an all around solid feelin car. im not lookin to work on it every month or so. i want somethin that is reliable.

i seen a video posted of an Orange C6 with a big Comp cam, full exhaust, and a tune and it was pretty nasty. i really want mine to run and sound like that setup. i dont know if anybody has seen the video but i figured i would throw that out for some help. not lookin to spend over about $7k.

thanks for the help!

If you dont want to spend over 7k then FI is gonna be tough to do unless you can turn your own wrenches and have a good source to get the blower of choice. You will need a good tune with it and considering the output I would be expecting to see some driveline asking for help. Should be able to get a h/c, headers and intake though. Getting the lope is just a matter of cam selection. Saw that video BTW. Most wicked. Be interesting to see what the gurus say.

yeah all the install will be done by a friend of mine and myself. we wont do the Heads and Cam but ihave another friend to help me out on that. i def. cannot spend over $8k i just wanted to keep it around $6k or $7k.
i woould rather have the NA setup but the FI is so much easier to do and in my opinion there is less room for error.

i would like to know what all that guy has on his car in that video...

Head & cam, headers and a tune. Plenty of performance and some wicked sounds to go with it.

Beginning Dec. 12, heads, cam, Halltech, tuning. A & A corvettes. Not going with headers now because of smog visual test concerns.

Go with a nice H&C package, intake, exhaust, and a lot of time on the dyno. Then throw in a 100 shot for good measure.
420+rwhp is plenty to run high 11's, but if you need to smoke past a new Z06 then just flip the switch.
Plus, you should have some money left over for some tires after you burn em up.

FI is going to cost all of your budget and when you eventually break something with your 540rwhp, you won't have any money left to fix it.

FYI. Someone reported here that B&B has a CARB certified header for the C6.

I regret not going forced induction this time. I would have more power with the ability to sell the FI set-up for 75% of new when I decide to get rid of the car.

Your car will be a beast. A friend of mine did almost identical mods and ended up at 470 rwhp and 425 rwtq. Thats a great choice for the cam. Pulls strong right up to 7000 rpms.

Good luck....anxious to see you results.
