Mine stopped working for about a week and then started working again. That was about last may. Some have reported getting dirt/corrosion in the switch and had it replaced.

I had the same thing happen only instead of replacing it I cleaned and reinstalled the original. That was back in early spring and I have not had a bit of problem since. I assume that the sealing cap was not secure on the original installation allowing dirt to interfere with the function of the switch.
It only takes a few minutes to remove the switch by reaching in once the inside passenger side tail light is removed. The reason I repaired it myself is my local service tech wanted to drill out the bracket to remove the switch. That would not have worked and would have destroyed the holder for the switch.
Member Pipedreams has an excellent write up on this posted here. In my case the dealer would have caused more damage than they repaired with this simple fix. If you let your dealer replace it make sure that they know how to access the switch. I have heard of some removing the entire rear section to gain access.
In their defense they did not have a C6 tech but were trying to help me instead of having to drive over an hour to a dealer with a C6 tech.
Got 114 miles on the car and the remote trunk unlock works irratically. Good to know (I guess) that I'm not alone. Thanks for posting. I'll just add this problem to the list when I take it in for the FIRST oil change.
Mine got stuck a couple of weeks ago. I had my dealer order a new one and he'll pop it in as soon as I have time to get the car over to them. I'm hoping the new switch has been improved.
